The last 3 months I have been focusing on creating quality content on my site, sticking to the 5 main aspects of content creation: Imagery, small paragraphs, Headlines, persona

I believe you are on the right track. 50% is not that bad.
Here are my tips to reduce the bounce rate, perhaps you find some value ones for your website.

Thank you, Loes I will check it out!

Really great training! I have added Galleries on most of my posts where I redirect them to content on my site which is comparable.
My site speed is pretty good according to Pingdom. Thank you very much

Glad you found something useful:)

Don't worry at this point, your website is only about 2 months old. It may just be WA members leaving comments as part of the learning so far. They leave the comment and go. Mine was like this also back then :)

Most of them are WA members, only a handful are outside WA

I'm starting to get more outside also, my website is 6 months old.
My bounce rate is at 38% so it takes a while.

That's what I'm striving for, engagement outside WA. For now, I focus on Site Comments to get better indexes. Nice talking to people who are ahead of you

The outside engagement will come gradually.

I used to check all the time, actually daily in Google Analytics but let that go because the same results were there for days.

Our websites are very new and we shouldn't be hard on ourselves when we don't see the results we want. Now I check every week or 2 even and see progress :D

Yes it is nice to see if others are getting results with new websites also. Comments is a big deal to Google.

Hey John,

Here's a Google search result: http://bit.ly/2wQ94gM with your question. There are many posts offered with great tips. You may find it beneficial to read through some of these.

Hope this helps you.

This article helped me out a lot! Maybe high bouncing rates are not that bad actually!

Your goal should be to REDUCE bounce rate but not lose sleep over it.

You are right! I shouldn't worry too much! Thanks for the tip!

users tend to leave your site upon landing if the content doesn't match the intent of their search.

That is the only explanation left, I'm thinking that, too! I basically set up a facebook ad for one my posts where I do not actually promote something. I got a fair amount of impressions but I think that most people that reached out weren't interested in my content.
