It may sound far fetched, but golf truly is very much like internet marketing.

To begin with, in golf you must pay attention to details. All the different aspects of the swing must be in place for the ball to be hit properly. This is also very true with internet marketing. There are many details in IM that must done properly or you won't accomplish your goal of doing business or helping people. Not only must you have traffic to your site, you must have something of value at the site. Many details must be attended to and done correctly for you to accomplish these tasks.

Having the proper attitude is critical to golf. If you get upset every time your golf ball doesn't go where you want it to, that alone is going to cause you to have even more problems with the game. IM is very much the same. Nobody does IM perfectly. We're human and we will make mistakes. You must accept that and be willing to forgive yourself for making mistakes and move on with the task at hand. Don't feel stupid for making a mistake. You should feel like that is one less thing I did wrong that I won't do again.

In golf it is best to wear some type of golf shoe. Golf shoes help keep you firmly grounded by grabbing the ground with spikes. Also, golf shoes typically are heavier than ordinary shoes helping to keep the golfer's feet firmly on the ground. In much the same way, you must stay grounded when approaching internet marketing. Thinking that you are going to be wildly successful in the first few months of your new internet business is not exactly being grounded in your reasoning.

Just as you must practice and practice correctly in golf, so too you must practice correctly in your internet marketing business.
