Bankruptcy and nursing home bound, a bummer
TIME ENOUGH FOR CRYING WHEN THE DEALINGS DONE, I AM NOWHERE NEAR DONE
Yes folks, I find myself in a real pickle, financially and physically. My situation financially has turned very very bleak, I have no choice in the matter, I am being forced into bankruptcy.
The bankruptcy part is bad enough, the true problem connected with that is that I must move to a nursing home. I lose my freedoms, that is living at home, well an apartment. I love being free to make my own decisions, cook whatever I want, well instruct my aides how to cook it for me. I have become particularly good at cooking instructions, that is one of the freedoms I will miss the most, deciding on what I want to eat for breakfast and dinner, and how it is prepared which is very important to me, I tend to be a big garlic eater and I love my spices.
I will have plenty of time at least in the nursing home to work on WA, that is about the only positive turn I can put on this. I was in a nursing home for 11 years, it was no picnic, and I do not look forward to returning to one, but I must.
It is awfully expensive for an individual like me to live on their own, a total quadriplegic that relies on others to do everything for him. Just my Hoyer alone cost me $2300 and change. My aides’ average cost, is $20 an hour, and I presently need them eight hours a day, 7 days a week, I am going a lot of hours without aides which is not the smartest thing to do but financially necessary.
I made some bad business investments at the very end of last year, which took a large portion of my settlement from my previous nursing home. Those investments would likely have turned out if it had not been for Covid-19. But that is hind thought and you know what they say about that.
Please do not get me wrong, I am not all depressed and crying about this, if I am anything, I am a fighter. Some of my investments will work out, of course WA will always be that strong potential success, but of course that is down the road a bit. We must always remember that humor is our lifes blood, it gets us thru rough times and keeps a smile on your face.
What I am hoping for is to only be in that nursing home 8 to 10 months, I do not intend to stay there, once again I am a fighter and incredibly positive thinker. I enjoy the positive vibes I get constantly from WA; it helps support my attitude especially positive thinking.

Joe, I'm so sorry about your situation. I admire your optimism and determination to make this nursing home stint a short one. As you mentioned in your post, you'll have lots of time and motivation to build your WA business while you're there. Praying for you, my friend with the beautiful smile.

I'm obviously very sorry to hear about your situation, it sounds like you're staying very strong, which is fantastic! I am from the UK so I'm not quite sure how your health system works.
All I can say is that it is great that you are staying positive. Maybe you could almost make a website on your situation and create YouTube videos to help people in similar situations? Just a thought.

I've got a grip on that nursing home thing as I have faced it a couple of times myself having spent 7 weeks in one last summer I learned I didn't want to be there. I spent 6 months in a hospital bed last year and I sit pretty much on my arse now because my damn stump has a wound on it that has been there a year. So I can't wear a prosthesis.
I think that our answer lies at wealthy affiliate and I do hope you have enough money to live on your own again through wealthy affiliate and I know you can. I will pray it happens soon for you.
I must say that good things come our way sometimes I have been fortunate enough to have a friend who will help me recover for a few months this winter and I received some good news for a change on my side. Good things come when you least expect it as you know. So I hope good things come from this bankruptcy. There are a lot of us here at wealthy affiliate that are physically challenged as I am sure you have discovered yourself.
You obviously have some business to attend to at the nursing home for whatever reason. There must be someone there that need your assistance and guidance as well as contributing to a positive attitude. Only positives can exist in our world. Know you are in my prayers my friend.
