Whew. that was a blow!
Although we live in N. GA, the hurricane traveled 40 mph last night to strike us this morning, taking out our power and shutting down our WiFi. I am currently running off the phone hotshot, cause we don't know how long this will last.
Thought and prayers for all of our friends in its path who were not as fortunate as we were.

Grew up in Florida, Tampa, to be exact. Only thing I liked about hurricanes was that the schools closed. Dad and I used to go out during the "eye" of the storm to see how much damage had been done. For about 15 minutes we had blue skies and sunshine and a stillness you could feel. We always had to run for it, because here came the backside of the storm.
glad you all are safe.
Hurricanes are like politicians--big blowhards.
Ugh, I know what hurricanes are like as I live in Houston. That's the only thing I don't like about living here lol.
Stay safe!

Glad we don't get hurricanes. We get earthquakes and other nasty things...and, oh, I will take that back. I've been in some hurricane-force winds here from time to time. Once on my homestead, the wind blew my outhouse over, and it wasn't even Halloween! Glad you made it through in one piece.
Sure that wasn’t a Halloween prank? We used to do that as kids! Be safe Fran.

Nobody else around at my homestead. Besides, it blew over a couple of trees too.
