What a blast!
Can you imagine a hurricane traveling across the USA at over 40 mph, packing 70 mph winds?
- Neither did we... I woke up at my usual time of 6am and the wind was howling.
- In 90 minutes, it was gone! Took down trees, powerlines and did so much damage.
- Imagine what it did to the Gulf when it came ashore?
- Okay, so you think you have prepared? I lived through 3 hurricanes in Florida.
- What about your life at WA? Are you prepared when things go wrong?
- Your perfectly designed website goes down.
- That earthshaking content you just wrote disappears!
- You didn't get indexed on Google.
- Planned to make a fortune and you've made Zip!
- Yes, it happens to all of us! The club is not exclusive.
Do you panic, or say... I've got this!
- I had emails to get out and things I needed the internet for.
- Nearly panicked, until I realized my cell phone had a WiFi hotspot...
- Zingo... I'm back on the air.
I love a quote by Vivian Greene:
"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning how to dance in the rain.
When it rains, start the dance!

Hi Joe, thank you for this post. I hope you and your family are fine? We all need this mindset currently. Where I live, another lock down is imminent, which probably means all restaurants closed. My husband is a restaurant-owner. It means no income but huge cost, it means having to lay people off. We are preparing to weather the storm. Once it hits, probably tomorrow, I ll remember your quote and start to dance 💃. It will all be ok in the end. 👍🏻😊
I am prepared for hardware malfunctions by having a laptop spare that can be utilised should the need arise and the phone has got the 'hotspot' so we're covered from that side of things.
Still, life has a way of lobbing curve balls that no one could have foreseen, so we have to be able to adapt.
Thanks, Joe.
Great post Joe.
I also feel a certain calm in a storm and like to sit outside and watch. Until the big stuff starts flying that is.
A wise mathematician once said: all you have to do to turn a negative into a positive is imagine it superimposed at 90 degrees to itself.
