Take a step back.

Last Update: November 11, 2019

So much emphasis is placed on progress.

  • I'm one of the most guilty ones!
  • We stress the lessons, build the website, build the business.
  • Write great content.
  • Blog on WA
  • Gotta do it...get it done.

Not a lot of posts on slowing down...

  • Push the pause button!
  • I have an Apple Watch. Every few minutes a pop up says...Breathe!
  • We need a breathe button... a smell the roses button!

Yesterday I was shaken to my core. A dear friend, that most of us know, Carson2, sent us a blog that he lost his daughter. Most of us were kind and sent him a sympathy note. Some even did a personal blog.

Last night he reached out to me in a blog and just said: "Why, Joe?" I didn't have any answers for him.

Today, I stopped...paused and just said a prayer for my friend who suffered an unimaginable tragedy.

Then I realized, I have been so busy trying to set up my new website. Answered all the blogs, made my usual daily blog, did 3 posts for my new site.

Then it hit me... what if I were in Carson's shoes? Would I be blogging? Working on my website? Or maybe reaching out to my friends with a WHY?

Life is just too short. I'm 82. How much longer do I have? Who knows?

You darn tooting... I'm taking a step back. Thinking of my friend.

Yes, I will continue to help people. I will continue to blog, but right now, I hurt with my friend.

Carson2, we care. You're in our thoughts and prayers. Feel like this is too religious? Deal with it.

Wise. Life is enough to test the mettle of mere mortals such as us.

Just perfect Joe, you said it brilliantly.
How wonderful that Carson’s WA family have rallied around him. It doesn’t stop the pain but I know from personal experience that by having a supporting and constant network around you it is like a big blanket, or perhaps an umbrella, whilst it doesn’t stop the cold or the rain it does at least protect you from the very worst in the very early days.... 🙏

Amen, my friend! Carson needs us right now. His loss is as you say, unimaginable.

Your suggestion to slow it down a notch is in the cards for me today. Thank you for reminding me that it is okay.

Prayers are definitely with Carson and his family. (I wish there was more we could do, but prayer is powerful!)
