Pilot's check list
Without one, you are one step from disaster!
For pilots, we have checklists for everything:
- Preflight checklist - fuel, oil, controls, load, charts, destination, weather.
- Before takeoff list - controls, radios, clearance, engine run-up.
- Landing check list - gear, flaps, mixture, props, clearance, weather report.
Everything has to be read and acknowledged. Nothing is taken for granted.
How does this apply to me and WA?
I hear people say they don't need a check list. I keep it in my head... bologna!
I can't even remember a simple grocery list!
Every evening before dinner, I get out my to do list. What didn't I get done today? Move it to tomorrow. What do I need to do tomorrow... coffee, emails, post my blog (keep at least 5 ahead), look at the blogs on WA.
I even plan my meals! Now you've gone too far! Nope, I love to eat and love to think about it before I just grab a doughnut, hot dog, bag of chips, water, wine... yep, I'm still a pilot at heart. Drives my wife crazy!
You've heard this before... if you fail to plan, you plan to fail... guaranteed!
Go ahead, try a check list, you might just get hooked. Need suggestions? I've tried 'em all. I like cheap and simple.

Great Blog, Joe, as usual. I've made lists ever since I can remember. The very act of writing a list cements it In my mind- so if I forget to take the list with me-grocery list for example- I still have every item in my memory.
A list is an organizational tool and it keeps you on track for each day. Otherwise, you're running around helter, skelter and at the end of the day, you can't remember what you have done and what you still need to do.
Thanks Barbara
