Hope - will it stand?

Last Update: November 17, 2019

Some will say this is a religious post...

I like a quote from President Abraham Lincoln: "How many legs does a dog have if you call his tail a leg? Four. Saying that a tail is a leg doesn't make it a leg".

Just what is hope?
  • "I hope it won't rain today because of our picnic".
  • "I hope I get the grant for my college degree".i
  • I hope I can get my website up and running".

Dante wrote in his epic book Divine Comedy, "Abandon hope, all ye who enter here...".

Yes, hope is very necessary in all our lives and all our activities. If you don't have hope, then why are you doing this? Why are you struggling to pay your membership if you don't hope to accomplish something?

I love a quote by Dale Carnegie: "Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all".

Don't ever lose hope! Never turn loose of your dreams. As long as there is breath in your body, there is hope. If you're breathing, there's hope.

Finish just one more lesson. Write one more post for your website. Write one more blog here at WA. Don't lose hope!

Joe

True, It is difficult to isolate the religious and compartmentalize it within the thought process. I suppose there is no reason to be concerned. I'm one who doesn't count on an invisible friend. At the same time, it will surely come true or not at the end. I am facing back surgery in a few weeks. I will release myself to the universe and not provoke the surgeon. 8-)

Thanks for your positive perspective. Quitting is reserved for losers.

Joe, your right about hope. One who has a goal should keep it there. There is a reason why I chose this site. Right?
