Head down and locked
I know, it's a pilot's expression!
- When we come in for a landing, our checklist calls for "Gear down and locked"l
- If not, it will get embarrassing as the belly of the plane scrapes along the runway!
- When a pilot is distracted, we turn the expression to: Head down and locked!
- Unfortunately, it happens in Internet marketing.
- As my granddaddy used to say, "We are sot in our ways".
- Mind is closed...don't confuse me with the facts!
Head down and locked!
- I don't care what Kyle says...this is how I am going to do it!
- So, I'm not getting traffic, but my website looks great!
- Okay, you're making money on your website, but this is not how I'm going to do mine.
- The training works for newbies, but it is boring for me.
- Don't have time to waste on all those lessons... I've discovered a shortcut.
Heard that before...actually done it a couple times myself!
You're headed for a hard belly landing and there's going to be a lot of scraping noise as you slide along the runway with the gear up!
In the Air Force we had an expression. "There's the right way, the wrong way and my way."
Some are doing it MY way... Head down and locked...scraping noises coming from the belly of the plane.
Darn it, I should have read the cockpit checklist. Maybe you should read the rules. Check the lessons before you build the website...could prevent a lot of expensive noises!
Okay, made my point Right way, wrong way...your way?

“A little learning is a dangerous thing; drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring: there shallow draughts intoxicate the brain, and drinking largely sobers us again.”

In plain English, “A little learning is dangerous, tricks you into thinking you know it all. When learning, more is better.”
Great analogy Stanley.
