Hello!

I was recently notified by Google Search Console that I have Breadcrumbs on my website that are inhibiting ranking. More specifically, it says I have "Missing fiel

Hi there,

I wrote a blog post on this a while ago: As a follow up to that video all my sites with breadcrumbs fixed themselves after a couple of weeks.

Let me know if I need to clarify anything.

Cheers,

Martin.

I had the same issue and now I have just disabled breadcrumb in my theme and when I clicked validate fix in Search Console, it seems to work because they just sent me an email stating that they have started validating my fix.

I just went to appearance>customize>Theme Options, then I unchecked the show breadcrumb box, and then published, then I went back to Google Search Console and clicked validate fix.

I'm having the same issue with one of my websites so I also disabled breadcrumbs in my theme and went to validate fix in search console again.

I am hoping this will be resolved, thanks Rose.

Hi there,

This message is caused by a new measure that Google added to Search Console last week. It is affecting thousands of sites, including several that I manage.

It is not a serious error that will materially affect your rankings (breadcrumbs are considered an enhancement) and for the moment I'm waiting to see whether the plugin I use (Breadcrumbs NAVXT) will be updated to take account of the missing elements.

Cheers,

Martin.

Hello!

I've got a question about transferring a domain from Shopify onto Wealthy Affiliate. I want to switch to a WordPress site with the WooCommerce plugin hosted by WA

I can't answer all of your questions but I can speak to the domain one...

If you have your own domain, registered elsewhere, you have 2 options for using it here at WA:

1) You can point the domain to WA's name servers. Once done, you then go to Websites > Site Domains and add it under Other Domains. Once WA verifies it's pointed to their name servers, they will make it available for use here.

2) You can transfer the domain to WA, changing the registrar to WA's service. The transfer (or EPP) code can be obtained from the current registrar. Each one is a bit different. Some allow you to log into their management portal and locate the code. Others may provide an option to have the code emailed to you. Who is the current registrar of your domain?

Thank you!
That makes sense - my store domain is registered with Shopify. I built it through Shopify, and host it through them. I will ask them for the verification code, than.

Hello!

I am trying to understand backlinks, because I think that is what my website is missing, and why I haven't been successful yet. I don't have any backlinks and I do

How long have you been at this and are you consistent? Is your traffic increasing? Are you sharing on social media?

I can’t help you with no follows and do follows because I don’t understand them myself but I can tell you I have backlinks according to Moz bar and page rank checker. If that’s true I didn’t do anything but get comments right here in WA and share on social media every blog post publication. Are you doing that getting comments right here in Wa?

I've been blogging for over a year. I produce a post every week consistently, post on Pinterest a minimum of 3x per day every single day. My growth and traffic has been very, very slow, and even though almost all of my content gets indexed in Google fast, none of it is on page 1.

I have only 1 post on page 1 in Yahoo and Bing.

I'm just not sure what I'm doing wrong. I have a few backlinks according to the Moz bar too, but not many at all. It says that's the reason my site needs improvement. I've been told that's what's holding me back.

I otherwise can't figure out why it's taken this long and I'm still not getting consistent traction. I'm baffled.

If you're saying your post isn't ranking it may be your keywords that you are choosing.

When you choose your keywords are they are least getting traffic of 50 and a QSR under 50.

I can only tell you what I do, and all of it came from the training. This video right here helped me get my post ranked. Have you seen this? Plus watching Kyle video helped me. Do you share on any other social site besides Pinterest?

By the way, I love Pinterest. All the other sites, I share on because I heard that is what helps you get natural backlinks but like I said I don't know I am not an expert. According to Moz bar, it says I have 434 backlinks, and I have no clue where they even came from.

I think I read somewhere that just by sharing your site on social media can help you get backlinks. You don't have to spend long on the site. In fact, I just hit my share button and that's it.

I share on Twitter, FB, MIX, and use to share on G+. I think all of this helped.

Plus whenever I signup to an account and if it has an option to put your website there. I would put it in that section.

This Friday Jay is doing an SEO webinar maybe this can give you some ideas And as far as the traffic, I post between 3 to 5 post per week. If I post anything less than I notice that my traffic is almost gone.

So, you say you're producing a post every week. Have you tried to increase your posting? Maybe this can help with the traffic.

I know this is frustrating I am just trying to figure out what the problem could be. Do you have a business Pinterest account? and is your SEO plugin set up for rich pins?

To have rich pins I used this tutorial to set mine up.

Thanks for your advice! That's all helpful info, I'll need to keep looking into it. I actually found that I hadn't enabled Rich Pins on my Pinterest yet, so the training you shared really helped me out.

I've been using Pinterest, Facebook, Quora, and Google+ at this point. I share to all of those platforms, but I've found the most success with Pinterest.

I'll keep trying!

I'm glad you did find something helpful but, I'm sorry that I was not able to help you further. One more thing, I thought I'd mention. If you haven't tried this yet.

I promote on all social sites too but, you're right Pinterest drives the most traffic. I would also say check out this site called Mix.

It's a fairly new platform but, I have noticed that my post gets ranked into Google when I submit my post to them. Mix kind of reminds me of Pinterest except, for its images plus the article.

I haven't learned to use the platform the right way yet, but I can tell you that you will find your articles in the search engine so, that can help drive traffic too.

So, it may be worth a peek. Plus, I read an article saying that StumbleUpon migrated to them. Garret Camp over at medium is the owner of both platforms (StumbleUpon and Mix)

Another thing, that I recently tried is Tailwind. They have a 30-day trial. At first, I was hesitant on trying them but, I am glad that I did. It gives you analytics that you normally can't see with a Pinterest business account. You may way want to try them for at least the 30-day trial. I found out all though, I have a decent following and an okay monthly view.

Plus I was getting shares, I found out that not too many people were actually being reached on my Pinterest. Anyway, if you decide to try them, they are free for at least 30days and nad no credit card is not needed. Plus they have free training within the account.

Anyways, I just hope you can find the problem. You're doing an awesome job. Success is around the corner and you have made a wise decision, just keep pushing...You go this...

Thanks so much for your encouragement and advice! You've really invested in me, and given me a lot of hope :), thank you for that.

I will definitely try Mix! I know of StumbleUpon, and I heard that they migrated to Mix, but I didn't know they're such a useful tool for ranking. I'll sign up!

And I will also probably try TailWind too, now that you've recommended them so highly.

Best to you, and your business!

You're welcome, you've come too far to look back now. I know you got this, and I am glad to hear that my advice has encouraged you. That makes me happy.

Yeah, try out Mix. There are few articles on Google about how Mix can drive traffic but like I said I don't know how to really use the account myself. I've just noticed some of my articles ranking in Google with Mix.

And yeah I would try out tailwind for at least the 30 days so you can see the analytics which can help narrow the problem down.

I wish you the best and all the success, I know you go this...Keep pushing...success is around the corner...

Have an awesome week ahead!

Kisha

You too Kisha! Wishing you success in your business venture - you're an inspiration!

Thanks, Jordan! You too!

Thanks!

If backlinks are truly irrelevant that's a relief to me, because they're very consuming to pursue. I'm confused though, because all of the other SEO experts and ultimate guides out there still swear that backlinks are EVERYTHING... I wonder why there's this incongruence.

Well, thanks for the tips! I'll stick with the Wealthy Affiliate recommendation then.

I'm just curious, does anyone know if I could host a website with eCommerce capabilities here on Wealthy Affiliate? I know that I can move my Shopify store onto WordPress by us

Yes, I have done this in the past. It works well. You cannot promote Amazon links this way but it works well if you have your own product.

Good to know Labman. Thanks for helping. I have been thinking about promoting my own product in the future.

Nice!! Thank you.
