Good morning. I am confused a little about what you are asking. Are you wanting to know about a "domain" or a "sub domain". They are different.
A domain is the actual URL (name) of the site. A sub domain is another name added to the same name of the original URL. An example of this is Wealthy Affiliate. Before you join wa the domain you type to go to the wa website is http://Wealthyaffiliate.com . Once you become a member you are redirected to the "sub domain" at http://my.wealthyaffiliate.com .
Do you see the difference between the two? My. Is the sub domain of the original site of Wealthy Affiliate.
To answer your other question, yes , as a premium member you can have 25 websites on your own domain name and 25 websites on the siterubix.com name.
The reason most sites may want to use a sub domain is if it is a member site, like Wealthy Affiliate, where a member can sign in to use the site.

I want to build a website that is shopping oriented. I have affiliates that are online stores and would like to build a site around them.
I would suggest looking at themes through Wordpress.org, and also browsing the Internet for sites that you like the design of and then running their URL through whatwpthemeisthat.com.
