I'm having trouble coming up with a niche and how to name it when I get one. Can anyone help me come up with some ideas? Thanks

You want to think about what you really love or have a passion for because you'll be working on this for a long time and you want to like what you're working on.

In order to succeed in affiliate marketing, your website needs to be focused on helping others in a particular area. If you think of a niche, then think about what are the things people in that niche would be searching for? What are their pain points? What can you help solve for them?

Like my website is all about helping people make money online. I'm helping people find a great training platform and other ways to learn how to make money online.

Another example would be pets, there are so many niches within pets. You could go as narrow as a website all about dog strollers or a little wider like dog training or dog grooming.

One more example is cooking, you can narrow it down by teaching people how to become a vegan. Therefore, this kind of website would be all about vegan food, how to eat vegan, how to be vegan, how to transition to be a vegan, etc... I hope you get the idea.

If you have it in your mind to help others in your niche, then you will have a thriving business.

Here are some other tutorials that will help you choose your niche: You can also go on Amazon.com to get ideas from their categories as well, each one of their sub-categories could be a great idea for a niche.

Also, I recommend using a free site first instead of buying a custom domain until you feel comfortable keeping the niche you picked. This way you can delete and start over without the extra $15 expense for another custom domain.

It's really easy here to transfer a free site to your own domain later on.

Another aspect you may want to think about is the price point of the products you'll be recommending in your niche.

The work is the same whether you promote a $5 product or a $500 product, make it worth your while. ;)

You want to build an online business where your site will be the bridge that connects people, who are searching for things, to the things they were searching for.

If you give people value, you build trust and if you have trust, then you'll have commissions.

Please let me know what you have decided on or what you're thinking about so I can help you more to narrow it down.

Thank you Grace. The idea of grooming might work. I used to own a pet grooming business so I do know about that. I don't know what I would talk about because I couldn't explain how to groom in enough detail so someone could do it safely, that you have to see .I wouldn't want to be responsible for them cutting their animals and that is easy to do. So without talking about that I don't think there would be enough to talk about. If I did do grooming how would I name it.

The more I think about it I don't know what I could sell or who I would link to in order to sell something.

You wouldn't be responsible for them. You would just write about how someone could go about grooming for different types of animals or breeds if you're just going to do dogs or cats.

You'll be recommending grooming tools of course, even I have grooming tools to recommend and I only do it for my little yorkie. You had a grooming business, so how do you not know what to recommend? Go on Amazon.com and type grooming tools for pets and you'll get a slew of things to write about.

You name your site whatever you want, it's your site. :)

Ok thank you for advice I'll do that. Do I put photos on it?

Yes you could put photos. The training will take you through all that.

What are your hobbies? What are you passionate about? What strife have you overcome? The answers to any of those questions can be a source of niche ideas. Once you settle on one you can then start thinking of your site name.

I do paper crafts cards and scrapbooking but I don't see what kind of niche that would make.

There are many others that are into the same...that can be your niche. You can write about various projects, scrapbooking tips, layout ideas and so on. As for monetizing it, you can recommend supplies and link to them through affiliate links.

That's a possibility but I would like to find something else.

Do you have any other interests?

Well let's start with something that interests you or hobbies of yours.

My hobby is crafts but I don't think that would be good.

I really like that idea actually. Well what kinda crafting are we talking?
Jewelry
Craft Book Publishing..

I mostly do paper crafts like cards and scrapbooking I love doing that. I have in the past made jewelry but I don't know what I could do with either.

Hey! What about greeting cards? That should be great start! Like show off your card creativity by designing your own greeting cards from home using paper and your creative talent. ...

You mean and sell them online? I would like that but I would have to show every card so people could see them and if the site really took off I wouldn't be able to keep up with making them.
