SPAM.Enough is Enough

Have you had enough of Spam?

I know I have.

I have four email boxes. Two with Microsoft, one with Gmail and one with WA.

They all receive junk mail, and loads of it. Yes, they are all filtered and most of the spam is redirected into the junk mail folder.

But not only does some of it make it's way into the main inbox, good mail ends up in the Junk box.

It drives me crazy!

So now I have to check the Junk mail every day as well.

I used to get one or two, now I get twenty or thirty.

And that's not including the crazy offers that arrive Via my website.

I know, I know!!!

I can add CAPTCHA.

But Hey... How many of you have gone into a site and have had to negotiate your way around this Captcha thing.

First it asks.

Are you a robot?

Well am I a Robot?

Do I look like a flammin Robot?

So you tick the box No, I"m not a Robot, but if you've got a few minutes I can tell you why I sometimes feel like I am.

Then comes the real doozy of a question.

How many bridges can you see?

I can see three you goose..

Do you think a robot couldn't see them?

Hang on a minute, maybe there's four.

WAIT!

Does that log going over the puddle of water count as a bridge?

OK, maybe not, I'll say four.

You're kidding!

How many traffic lights are there?

Hang on while I get a magnifying glass.

Yes YES

I see three.

Wait a minute!!

I don't give a S#*t how many buses there are.

As you can see, I'm not impressed by Catcha, and I often wonder, if I put it on my site will the Benefits outweigh the Negatives.

Maybe.

Any way back to the Business of Spam.

I also receive spam phone calls.

You Know.

The.."I'm phoning from your Blah, Blah, Blah (insert a telco provider)", one. Do you realize your Internet is playing up.

Yeah Right! It's always playing up.

Since when did you start caring?

Or, the "I am calling in regard to government survey", one.

It always stumps them when I ask, "Which Government"?

At least the letters in the mail has stopped. No one uses that anymore.

Remember Them?

Not the mail thing... I know that's rare nowadays.. the junk mail thing.

Remember being told you have won a million dollars?

All you have to do is send all your details and $40 so we can release the funds?

TAKE THE $40 OUT OF THE MILLION YAH MONGREL?

An old mate of mine used to send them the money every month, he should have been a Gazilioneer, but he wasn't. Unfortunately he had the first stage of dementia, but those creeps didn't care.

Then, one day he decided to give me the envelope each month to send off. I'd take it from him and, when he went home, I'd open it up. Take the money out. YES!! He put cash in the envelope.

I would then give the money to his daughter who would pay it towards his bills. He never found out.

Now This Brings Me To Some Serious Spam.

Have you all noticed just how many new members are placing either their website link or an outside link onto their first blog lately.

NOT GOOD!!!

Spam is a NO NO! Spam is a NO NO!

I understand that some just don't realize they're not supposed to do this.

I also believe that it's necessary for our leaders at WA to point this out a little better, and earlier, in the training.

Then Theres the Others! or, as we used to say on the farm "Udders".

They are the ones that come to WA to blatantly promote their outside web post here, or from some other site where they obviously earn a commission from.

They usually won't have a profile picture and you won't find anything written about them under the blank profile.

YOU MUST NOT LIKE THEIR POSTS OR CLICK ON THEM, REPORT THEM AS SPAM IMMEDIATELY BECAUSE:

Okay, so I've had my rant and I feel better now.
