Great Quote # 14

I have noticed a lot of bantering and insulting language being used lately on Live Chat. It seems we have a small amount of members (and I mean very small) that come with heaps of Facebook experience.

Why Facebook?

Facebook seems to be the platform where everyone has an opinion that shows animosity to others opinions. Facebook anger, as I like to call it, is rife and growing out of control lately.

Not at WA.

I'd hate to see this happen at WA. I love this place and the many friends I have made here. Just like the usual brothers and sisters, we can be annoyed, even angry, with each other at various times.

But There's no need for insults and hate.

I decided many years ago that hate would never have a place in my heart. I have an intense dislike for the word hate. I would never allow my children or grandchildren to be hateful people.

When the children in my life were all young I would teach them that the word hate is tantamount to wanting someone dead.

So I won't accept it here.

I hope you won't either.

All insulting, hateful interactions should be reported.

A three strikes and you're out policy should be adopted.

So this leads me to todays quote.

Watch your thoughts; they become words.

Watch your words; they become actions.

Watch your actions; they become habits.

Watch your habits; they become character.

Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

Well said. Not experienced any myself but I wouldn't have thought that will happen here at WA. Totally agree. We need to get rid of any bad language.

Thank you Joseph.

very good, logic quote. Unforuantely some people donot follow this idea behind your quote.

Agreed Will.

Love all the support in here - would hate to see it tarnished by negative people. Also, the chat is there for everyone to see so we don’t want newbies to see any negative banter

Karina

Definitely Karina

I agree. Let's see this removed from our community.

Hopefully we will Sylvia

Very well written and well thought out article. Positivity all the way!!!

Thanks David.

Negativity is darkness. Positivity is light.

We should all seek to move towards light.

Each of these paths are chosen by people with free will

If negativity is shown outright, then the person should be removed outrkght.

Live Chat is a place where people come for enlightenment.

Those who promote the opposite should be removed

I agree Maxine .

Jim,
I do not know if Debs saw you comment tonight but I
did and thank you for being there - the sad thing is
when we do try to help some people they just
become even more abusive - that is why I stepped
in as well to help try to defuse the situation seemed
to help when they saw she had someone behind her
they both left.
Thank you for the post and sharing it is much appreciated,
Susie

No worries Susie. It's sad to see that sort of behaviour here. I don't normally go on live chat but I noticed the comments on the right of my page while working on WA. Jim

There is a reason for hate and it's not the same as anger. Anger is defensive; hate is destructive. It's purpose is to destroy the false inside ourselves.

Equanimity is also an option one can choose in reaction to hateful actions that others direct outside themselves.

I'd further point out that becoming an arbiter of hate is not such an easy thing and actually may unintentionally lead one down the path of hatefulness.

Well said.

Fortunately I'm well past the stage of hate consuming me in any form. I've had far to much happen to me in my life that would have given hate an opportunity to control it long ago and it never did. I agree that anger and hate are different, but anger can lead to hate. So rest assured that if I was an arbiter, it certainly wouldn't lead me down that path.
It just saddens me to see this sort of behaviour taking place within the WA forum, but it certainly doesn't surprise me.
All the best. Jim

Amen, Jim! I wrote something similar in my latest WA blog post.

I refuse to let such negativity into my life and, thus, I am rather particular with whom I follow here at Wealthy Affiliate; our community is too valuable to do otherwise.

Constructive criticism is one thing, but I won't hesitate to unfollow someone who is bitter, angry, and just flat out being mean.

Thanks AJ, I agree
