Laying in bed feeling sorry for myself.

Well here I am laying in bed with my mobile (or cell phone) in my hand. It's a cold morning and the sun is just starting to break up the darkness. The birds are chirping and welcoming another day

So why am I feeling sorry for myself.

I hurt my back about a fortnight ago (just to add to my woes), and I've been on pain killers ever since.

This isn't the first time I've had this happen. I have had a back issue for a number of years. My doctor calls it chronic, I call it a nuisance (with an adjective placed in front).

Usually I simply do some exercises, take some painkillers and get on with my day. But this time It's not repairing itself quite so quickly.

I've been told to have bed rest.

I hate bed rest .

I'm an active person, I love gardening as well as working on our house. I love cooking, walking, playing with the grand kids and chasing their little dog Dee Dee, who loves to come here for sleep overs with them.

But I can't do any of that for a while.

That's why I'm feeling sorry for myself.

On The Bright Side.

I can lay in bed with my mobile and write blogs, comment on WA and see what my friends are up to.

Plus I'm back in the Top 50

Hopefully after a few days of rest I'll be up and at it again.

All The Best. Jim

Wow Jim!!! That's so great to be in the top 50, and yet again! Congrats on a grand achievement for sure.

Sorry about the back. I understand that. Hopefully the time will pass quickly for you and you'll be back doing the things you so love before you know it.

Until then, Happy Blogging!
Kate

Hi Jim,

Congratulations on your achievement back in the top 50! Yes, sometimes these chronic pains are nags. Hope that with rest your back will heal and you can get back in the swing of things.

Be of good cheer! In no time, you will be up and about again. Wishing you the very best!

Kind regards,
Nichola

I suffered a back injury also. It was when I was in my mid 20's. I've had flare ups on occasion that can be quite debilitating. As painful as it can be, I force myself out of bed, stumble around like a 150 year old man with a bent back, and try to do some range of motion exercises. Within the longer side of a week, things slowly begin to sort themselves out. I don't take any pain killers, they don't do anything for me. I feel your pain brother, literally. Better days.

Greg

Thanks Greg
That's exactly what I've always done , plus I see a Chiropractor. But I think the years of wear and tear have finally caught up. This time nothing helped and I ended up with painful spasms. I have a friend up the road from me who had surgery and he:s now in a wheel chair, so I'm definitely not going down that track.
Hopefully the rest , coupled with gentle exercise will help me to heal.

Surgery isn't for me either. My father has had 8 major surgeries over the years. Among the alzheimers and other issues, he now has severe scoliosis. On days he can walk, he's bent at the waist and shaped like the letter S. And the constant never ending pain. All they can for the guy is pills, pills and more pills.

Hi Jim, sorry you’re not feeling well, but you will soon. Always look on the bright side of life, things happen for a reason, even though it keep you (us) down some times.

The greatest man is in control. Stay bless, and I pray for your recovery soon. Enjoy your pampering for now. :)

Elizabeth
