Judge not

Many has heard the words; judge not, lest ye be judged, but what exactly does that mean, and what effects do our judgements have on our lives’, and those around us? Judge not, does not warn of an impending judgement that will be metered out against the one making the judgement, but rather simply explains the limitations that we put upon ourselves by making judgements. When we decide that something is the way we perceive it to be, we place limitations on our perspective, and by doing so limit the information we allow ourselves to receive. In essence, our judgements are self-created walls that limit our perspective, and understanding of what is happening in our lives, and reduces our ability to express ourselves at our highest, most effective level. The trick is to learn to discern, without placing judgement on what we experience, as we experience it. Truth is always self-evident, if we will allow ourselves to rise above our judgements to the clarity that we all have access to. This is a childlike, virginal perspective, that we all are born with, and must learn to return to if we are to live up to our great potential as Children of God. Letting go of our judgements takes practice, but the freedom, and strength that is gained from our efforts will move us into a much lighter, more joyous life. As we learn to let go of our judgements of ourselves, others, and the events of lives, we will gain clarity, plus a sense of lightness, having let go of the weight of our judgements, which is a very powerful state to live in, not to mention the wisdom and light we gain to improve the quality of our lives, and those lives we touch. We are here to grow, which takes effort on our part, and having a basic understanding of the dynamics that govern our lives is helpful in getting as much out of this great adventure we call life. Our judgements are much like a sack of rocks that offer little more than the experience of carrying unneeded weight, and once we come to this simple truth, we can begin to use all our strength to express a fuller life for ourselves, and those we interact with. Our greatness as Children of God hides just behind the veil of our judgements of ourselves, and others, and as we exercise our God given abilities to discern without judgement we gain clarity into our true nature, the world, and those around us which gives us a sense of connectedness and an understanding that brings joy, and fulfilment that has to be experienced to fully understand our true potential here in this life.
