The Free Copy Writing Course

The word "Copy Writing" was not less than an alien to me when I first heard about it, and I just ignored it as though it is none of my business. Recently it dawns upon me that actually it is my/our business when I started reading the book referred by Jay, How To Write A Copy That Sells by Ray Edwards.

All these years, since joining WA, we are Copy Writing and we are Copy Writers in literal sense.

According to Wikipedia," Copywriting is the act, or occupation of writing text for the purpose of advertising or other forms of marketing. The product, called copy, is written content that aims to increase brand awareness and ultimately persuade a person or group to take a particular action."

Now that's we all are doing, try to increase brand awareness through our websites and want readers to take a particular action through various CTAs.

The Internet has expanded the range of copy writing opportunities to include landing pages and other web content, online advertisements, emails, blogs, social media and other forms of electronic communications.

The Internet has brought new opportunities for copywriters to learn their craft, do research and view others' work.

One more definition that is really simple to understand "Copywriting is the art and science of strategically crafting and publishing targeted, reader-focused words (“copy”) online that get people to take some form of action." Wow, that's closer to what we do regularly - Blogging.

Why We Need to Get Better at Copywriting?

Because, according to stats - 4.6 billion pieces of content are produced daily (Source: LinkedIn). Every day there are around 92,000 new articles posted on the internet. There are 83,000 blog posts published every hour.

Right now, more than 27 million pieces of content are shared across the web every single day.

It is very clear that if we do not present our content in an attractive manner, it's going to be really difficult to catch the reader's attention.

But the good news is that today, 88% of the internet users around the world head to search engines to research products they want to buy, before they take the financial leap and make a purchasing decision.

Internet users currently conduct more than 12 billion searches each month – despite this, though, the click-through rate of paid advertisements is only about 2%.

So by creating unique, relevant, and high-quality content on a web page, blog, or social media account, we can easily build an audience and develop a solid reputation.

The most important take away from these studies is - "When marketers blogged daily, 82% of them earned new customers."

Blogging daily is a smart business strategy, but it’s also difficult to keep up with. many fall behind their blogging schedule and fail to provide real and dependable content for their readers."

So let's stick with our blogging schedule and here is a very useful

Free Training on Copywriting by John Carlton.

According to Ray Edwards," John Carlton is one of the guys who got me started in the world of professional copyrighting. He's got a degree in psychology, understands how the human mind works and how people make buying decisions, and he uses his knowledge of behavioral psychology to sell stuff…which I think is a pretty smart idea."

And here is an interview of John Carlton.

I hope you will find these resources useful and helpful in your blogging and copy writing.
