My YouTube Channel Suspended!

Hey Friends,

it was a real shock when I received an email from YouTube, stating that my YouTube Channel is suspended!

I had no idea that I am violating YouTube Community rules.

It's just that I started getting used to this video medium, and it's not that I am having great no of subscribers but still 250+ :((

What I was doing wrong:

Sharing my affiliate link directly in the description area. You can drive your readers to y"our blog, but sharing direct affiliate link is total no no!

Adding more than required tags! Unnecessary tags and unrelated tags, is "Tag Stuffing" in YouTube.

Sharing your affiliate link which directly collect the viewers personal information like name and email is not allowed.

I was sharing my home page sign up in description.

Though I was not aware of the rule of YouTube, without any warning, YouTube has banned my channel!

I also tried to contact YouTube Community through "Appeal the Suspension" but of no use.

So friends, never share your affiliate links directly on any social media platform!

I want to know if anyone faced the same issue, and how to retrieve my channel? Any help in this regard is welcome.

P.S: Here is a link to YouTube Community Guidelines
I hope it is helpful to all of you:)

Thanks for reading.

Regards,

jivita.

Ouch!!
Sorry to hear that.
Since you have the emails already, you could launch a new channel and direct your email list there.

No General,
You can't, once one of your channels banned, it's very risky to post through other channels and unfortunately, Youtube is not allowing me to Sign In:))

So sorry!
Thanks for sharing, this will help others to do better.

Thanks Nadia,

I hope it helps all of you, not to post affiliate links directly:))

it is always a good idea to read the terms and conditions before you Start on any new platform. These violations are very difficult to correct and so easy to do

Right You are Catherine, and thanks for stopping by:))

Yes, when those terms, are clear!!
I was accused of recruiting?? To, what?? My WA following. Really?
B

under their terms and conditions that is recruiting.

I wasn't recruiting... My site wasn't even launched.
Misunderstanding.

No, all I have had is 1 strike, which I found out later was mistake anyway.Hope you get it sorted

Thanks Dave,

I hope so, I learned that sometimes after 30 days, they bring to an end suspension:)

Perhaps use dtube instead, I think YouTube too big for its boots! (When or where our business needs are not being served thecway we would like its time to explore other avenues)

Thanks Ann for your suggestion, surely I will check:)

Huh!
Interesting... I heard, a speaker, who "Really, doesn't care what YOU, think!" , on You Tube.
I heard, and felt, several times, a snarky, quip, about "YouTube", FEELING he wasn't a fan, BUT here I am, for an hour.
It just planted a curious seed...
Barb

My point is we need to be open to exploring a multitude of avenues that may in the long run serve our needs BETTER. I like my freedom too much so when someone says I can't do something, that's a great time to go and explore where I CAN do that thing. Ann

Hey jivita
so sorry to hear that your channel was suspended
I am also new to the youtube scene and I currently have two strikes and one more means ill be terminated
I wish youtube could elaborate more on the things people can and cannot post especially for new content creators

Thanks Kemdi,
You should be careful while posting at YouTube. Here is a guideline on Youtube Community Policies. Hope it will be helpful to all of you:

At least, you are warned...

Thank you Jivita for sharing your story. I hope someone who can help or advise you steps forward.
Jay

Thanks Jay, I want everyone should be aware of it :)

I hope you get your channel back!

It may benefit you to watch Jay's video on SEO for YouTube: He has a series of them, all well worth watching! cheers Marc

Thanks Marc, for a great suggestion :)

Hi so sorry to hear this, I hope you get it sorted soon. Thanks for warning us.

Thanks Avril, Shared this post so that everyone should take proper precautions before sharing affiliate links:)

This sounds a little strange because many people share their affiliate links in the YT description box - even big YouTube marketers.

Also, usually YouTube gives you 3 strikes before you are banned. Did you not get any first strike or any warning at all?

No Mikael, not a single warning from Youtube, so it's quite strange to me also!
Thanks for commenting:)
