can posting the same posts on google plus hurt your rankings? For example, posting the same post to different communities within google plus. Or do you only get ranked by the p

What you want to do is put a little intro about what your article is about and then add the link to your site, rather than having them read everything from your G+ account. You are letting your followers read your content, and also you give your site some visitor time, which will help you with SEO so it's a win/win situation.

Makes sense, thank you :)

You're welcome!

That was an interesting question...thanks for bringing it up...

no problem

Your posts can get ranked in google and that's OK you can post what you want because google wants you to use their social network

makes sense, thanks

Correct me if I am wrong with this, but I noticed that our posts in Google Plus are only visible to people who are also signed in to Google Plus. So, it's just like any other social networking sites, posts are seen only by insiders who are logged in. Can this be included in what we call "Google ranking"? I don't think so.

ok, perfect. but if I post to "public" it could possibly be ranked?

Using any google property adds trust and power. Whether they are nofollow or dofollow. As soon as its published to G+ its live. Whether people see it or not doesnt matter. Yes you would want people to see it so you could drive traffic from that point, either way it will still hold SEO power

This is very true. Sometimes we tend to over-think things, but posting an article to multiple communities, as long as it is relevant is part of the process intended by Google when they set G+ up. :)

That's the key: Relevance. As long as the post being shared is relevant to the community (and allowed by community moderators), it is okay.

With regard to BeauAndNik's comment, I think there's a mystery behind that, that Google would not reveal to us. That even if G+ behaves like Facebook when it comes to visibility of posts, they may prioritize ranking blog posts that are first shared on G+ platform.

They may and they will. Out of all the sites indexed online, who has the highest Domain Authority, Trust Flow, Citation Flow, Relevance... Google properties do.

Thank you :)

If you are using a G+ page that is branded the same as your associated website then there are no penalties.. But you couldnt have multiple pages that were using the same name as your domain but with slight variations to make them unique, as this would be considered spammy.

Post it on your website, share it to G+, then share the G+ post to other communities

Thank you. I have one g+ page but when I share a particular post, I share to 8 or 9 different communities within g+. The communities I share them with are relevant to my niche. I also share the same post to public. Just wasn't sure if doing it this way was hurting me.

This will not hurt you because all of these posts are coming from the source. you :)

Yes...you are doing it correctly. The main limit I self-impose is not to post more than once or at most 2 times a day...mainly to avoid over-taxing my audience.

Great point!

makes sense

yes, great point. thank you

No , as far as I know this is not a problem. Cheers Kev

awesome, thanks

How do I check to see what page my website is on in Google? I know it is in the training but apparently I can't read my own hand writing and I can't remember what lesson it was

Can I cancel and quit?

Heyllo!
There are a number of SERP tools available online
here is a quick blog someone made about that here at WA the other day If you have Jaaxy they have the tool built right in by clicking on the site ranking tab, then enter the keyword and website you want to search...it's pretty awesome to see your pages /keywords move up the rankings
Best of success!
Paul
