You don't have to have a custom domain name but lis going to be much better for your branding and ranking in Google. The domains here are only about $14 for a year so it's not bad.
Also once you buy a domain you can go to the Site Manager and click Move in the links under your site name and select the domain you just bought as the destination.
It will move everything over to the custom domain for you and you'll be good to go.

I'm not to understand completely the question, but once you buy a domain and transfer it to your siterubix one, everything is done automatically for you. The new domain will replace the old.
