Amazon Affiliate Update

Just to let all WA members know, the following states are closed to residents of Arkansas, Colorado, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri and Rhode Island for their affiliate program. Illinois supreme court struck down the tax law and Illinois residents are now eligible for the Amazon affiliate program.

The problem right now is determining what is the best long term internet money making model. You hear some of these guru's and I'm referring to the legitimate ones.Their pushing Amazon and Amazon FBA or LOCAL MARKETING. These people are saying that affiliate marketing isn't producing like it used to. People are getting smarter and they are harder to convince to opt in to an affiliate program.
I've been in direct in home sales over 40 yrs for large ticket home improvements --one of the most competitive industries in the world.
The defining factors that make one sales rep more successful than another is their selling skills. I wonder if the same holds true for affiliate marketing.Can you still get rich from affiliate marketing or is the party over.Where is the big money being made in the internet today.

Is it true or false when you see these Gurus trying to sell these Amazon FBA programs showing how they are making from 50,000 to over 500,000.00 per month on selling items through the FBA (facilitated by Amazon)
More and more of these people are saying that they have cracked the code on how to give Amazon the smaller commission and they keep the lion's share. Is there any truth to it. If so does WA offer a course in this type of marketing

The correct term is Fulfillment by Amazon and yes you can make a lot of money with it but you also can lose a lot if you don't know what you are doing.

And there is a lot of work involved in doing it, it is kind of like e-bay buy low sell high, you have to have a steady flow of products that you can sell for at leased 3 times what they cost you and like any online business the more you know where to find good in demand products the more you can make.

The products need to move pretty fast or you warehouse fees to Amazon will eat at your profit margin.

The thing I did not like about the FBA program was tracking the sale tax for all the states that have it in place for internet sales, Amazon will collect it for you (for a Price) but you have to pay the tax in each state on your own, kind of a bookkeeping nightmare

Thanks for the update. California was out a few years back, but reinstated. I can at least say Amazon is consistent with their stand. All the best to you.
