How do I set up affiliate sites as a free member? I plan to go premium but I want to give this a spin as a free member first. What's my course of active to get affiliate sites l

Hi RSchamp. Is the process the same if I am a premium member? I have to get "permission" from the affiliate site to use them?

First you must be an affiliate. So, let's say it's Amazon you're interested in. Go there and register and be accepted as an affiliate. They will give you a home page area, and an affiliate link. Your affiliate link will be embedded in all products you choose to market. Automatically. Your home page area has a search tool to find products. The product itself has a link to click on and takes you to the product picture (widget as it will look on your page) and it's code. Copy the code and paste on your page while the page is in edit mode and text mode. BUT...before you actually place stuff on your page, it's a good idea to pay attention to your content and keywords and an idea what you are trying to accomplish first. What will draw people and keep them engaged and bring them back!? Develope your unique web personality first before you throw products in the mix...

I am learning myself reading this answer. Thanks a lot.

awesome! thank you so much!

Yes, you can set up affiliate sites but you need to have your website up and running with content. Also, you have to apply and be approved with affiliate companies. Good luck here at WA!

that's what I wanted to know. Thanks much! Yea I know there's an application process, but before I went through it I wanted to make sure that I could use the links.

Thanks much again for everyone's help!

I'm going to have a hard time coming up with content if I don't have an affiliate site's approval. My niche is Broadway shows. And I want to be able to have my content be a show listing with ticket purchase links. Does that make sense?

I do plan on going premium, but can I set up affiliate sites as a free member?

Yes, you can set up affiliates as a free member. There are members here who do stay on as free and they are able to add affiliates links to their site, just as a paid member.

jgearino...just look over to the left and click on the green section Get Started Here...upon clicking that you are well on your way. Just follow exactly what Kyle says. also at the end of the page check the box for all the task you completed and move on to the next lesson. it keeps track of where you stopped and will begin in that same lesson. the course lessons are very very important...good luck

Tamela, I've already completed the first course. I haven't started course two yet because you need to be a premium member. Is there a specific course of action to getting affiliate sites on my page, or just register and copy the links to my site?

Thanks for your all help and advise so far everybody! My time here at WA so far (which has only been a week today!) has been great, looking forward to being around for a while.

You can be a free member forever if you wish but going premium is much easier and quicker to achieve your goals
