Is anyone using "Theme Twenty Seventeen with WordPress?

How do you add the feature "Read More," Which says that feature is permitted?

But no matte

I have to say, that this highlights an issue with free defualt WordPress Themes in that they are restrictive. Its probably the only place on the Internet where free doesn't always mean best value : )

Like Chigs I use and have used GeneratePress Premium, together with Elementor for some pages where I want the custom edge and these avoid this issue.

GeneratePress Premium theme, also has a template for affilliate marketers and writers, of which we are both types. You can see what the theme looks like on my profile here

GPP Themes are also coded to work WITH Elementor, instead of against it like other themes are

Either way, having renewed both for the coming year, I can hand on heart, like most who do use GPP, that it is a delight to work with

Absolute gold of a response. Am building a new site from scratch in a day or two so this is really helpful. Thanks

Unreal the replies I got back, tells you what kind of support we have.

Glad it helped

Hey Joseph,

Are you using the Classic Editor or the Block Editor?

If you are using the Block Editor, open your post and set your cursor exactly where you want the Read More tag added.

Go to top, left nav bar in edit mode, and click on the + symbol.

In drop down search textbox, type More

Once More appears, click on it and you will have inserted your Read More tag using the Block Editor.

Hope you find this helpful.

Thanks, I just benefited from your answer

Thanks, tried it that way, answer my theme will not support the read more feature.

Have you put in a ticket to the developer Joseph? That might help both of you. It could be a simple fix.

Google search "twenty seven wp theme" (without the quotation marks, of course) and once their page comes up in your search results, click on it and look for the Support forum button, then submit your ticket, making sure to provide as much detail as you can.

I was using that one on two of my sites and I had to switch themes cause I was having big problems with that one and Im so happy I switched now I don’t have any problems

What theme did you switch too, if I may ask?

It’s called AMPHIBIOUS I have it on four sites and love it

Thank You I followed his steps on that video but nope did not work.

Hi, just tried it on a test site and it did work for me

On what Theme did it work on ?

I want to be clear on this before I do it. Can we link one of the blog posts written on the "WA Blog Platform back to your website?"

Thank you for the f

Yes, get it on there Joseph. I put a link to the whole roll on the menu, just for the lols.
Anyway, using the affiliate links is a great way of adding an extra 'something' to your posts, you'll always find a WA post to link to, no matter what subject you might be covering, though it obviously helps your cause if it's one of your own😉.

Thank You great advice, I like that strategy your using.

So not only your own posts but others, and you can do that with affiliate links- great to know, Twack, thanks. Will look more into this

A link to the whole roll! A Great idea! 🤔

Hi Chris, yes, absolutely you can, if there's a link on the page you can use it.
Great to meet you here, a 'follow' is in order.

Thanks, Jeff, I just added the custom URL to the main menu, just thought it's another way of getting some exposure.

It certainly is, my friend!

Hi Joseph,

Yes, you are allowed to post links to any material that has the "Affiliate" button in the upper righthand corner of the blog.

This is a great way to get a little ranking juice from WA for your material that you write on your website.

Any material that you cannot share will not have the "Affiliate" Link button.

HOWEVER,

You can not directly copy and paste any material from WA to your own private website or to any social media group or business pages: that is against the rules, and the search engines actually frown on such unethical practices.

I hope you and yours are safe and healthy during the holiday season and thereafter,

Calvin

Thank You, Calvin, had to be sure.

Thanks Calvin, glad I scrolled down to read further. Good info

I can't see anything wrong with that

Thanks, Dave, but I had to ask.

Great question

I get this message on my site Health indicated

Your page makes 24 requests. More than 20 requests can result in slow page loading.

Has anyone gott

You would need to use "object" or "embed" tags instead of iframe tags, but if you do not know anything about that you are best off leaving it. An "iframe" is essentially a window through to another website, meaning that your website is not only loading your own site, but it's also loading other websites in the frames as well.

As an example, a YouTube video is contained in an iframe, so you are essentially looking through a window frame (the iframe) to the video on YouTube - this means that when you add YouTube videos to your site, the visitor is not only loading your website, but YouTube's too.

Some lazyload plugins will actually replace the iframe with the thumbnail image until the play button is clicked which is the best practice if it is YouTube videos that are causing you the problem.

Thanks, Dale, I will check it out.

Such an informative response, thanks Dale. Will be launching an affiliate site soon with some video posting so this is quite helpful.

Thanks for the great answer Dale, that has helped me immensely.

Joe, In haven't got a clue but the answer from Trish below is very appropriate to what I am doing right now.
Thank you to both of you.

Hey Joseph,

Is the iframe issue you say that you are experiencing to do with your using too many YouTube videos on one post?

If yes, then you may want to test using a lazy load plugin for YouTube videos... or for embedded videos. Whichever the issue might be.

Hope you find this helpful.

Thank you, no it is when I upload a WA Banner.

You can download the WA banner and add it to your Media Library and use your Direct Link instead of the iframe link... but... the HTML Code (iframe) SHOULD be okay as BOTH the link and the image link are secured.

Odd... you might want to discuss this issue with SiteSupport, as I'm sure this would interest them too.

No, Joseph, I'm afraid not, but I am watching with interest!

Jeff

Sent a reply to site support to see what did come up with. It is created with the banners I have been using to promote WA.

🤔 Very interesting, Joseph! Are they official WA banners or ones that you created?

Hi I didn't however have you tried reach out to site support in regards.

I am having an issue with the Focus keyphrase in the introduction; I have it written in the first paragraph as it asks you to do.

It keeps provide me with an X in a circ

hey hi Joseph!

to your posted question re: AIOSEO ... there's been some changes / updates to this plug in and Phil has a video tutorial on it ...

hope it's of help for you ... all the best ... :)

I had the same problem Joseph I just left it in the end, I think its just a bug that will get fixed eventually :-)

Thank You, Lisa, much appreciate it.

New to this so sorry for being really stupid but I don’t understand what we are talking about here. What is focus keyword phrase?? What is x in a circle? Is this in website content?

No, it's on a published post where the all-in-one SEO plugin gives you a score on your post.

Hi,

Here is a snapshot of what I am asking for advice on.

if you know it is in there then don't worry about it - it is not aio you need to find it ...it is google....
so carry oan leave it - i am sure , like this platform there are a few issues, which will be updated soon i am sure
have fun
phil

Thanks makes sense.

Maybe after rewriting it you need to refresh the page to see if the marks change

Thank You, I did try that, but it never worked or changed Focus Keyphrase's status. But I do appreciate your feedback.

Ok Then do not worry about that if you know it' in there. As long as you can rank that's fine.

Exactly, I wasted enough time trying to figure it out. Time to move on. Thank you, Warly.

Thanks, guys, for the feedback; I thought it was but had to ask the question.

My notifications haven't like me since the rollout of the new layout and theme.

Give it some time, bugs will be squashed in the coding.

Thank you, Kyren.

It's a bug being worked on, be patient.

Thank You, Joseph
