Hello all -

I have finished my 3rd course, and have to say that the later tutorials talk more about what needs to be done, and have a very gentle touch on how technically to do it. I want to thank this community and several incredible individuals, who patiently walk me through WordPress interface, Google useful tools, etc. and explain what I need and where to find it... Thank you dear WA community! I would not be able to get where I am without your help.

We are giving and receiving great support to each other on how to start, organize and run an online business in whatever niche we've chosen. I wonder, though... If I am interested in a particular product, how could I find out who among my fellows-Wealthy-Affiliaters are managing the related niche? Wouldn't it make sense for me to get an advice from one of you, and buy what I would buy anyway, through this person's website, giving him/her an opportunity to make an extra buck? Of course, I could Google, do my own research, and buy directly from Amazon or somewhere else, but why not to support a fellow WA-ter and save time on research? Do we have a place within WA, where we could call out to people for a particular product line, or a centralized place where we could list ourselves in a particular niche?

Right now, I am interested in recreational bicycling, and need some accessories. Anyone?

The reason why members aren't allowed to earn from other members is that you would then never be able to rely on any advice you received as being given solely in your best interest.

If it was allowed, it would also probably result in some members constantly promoting what they have to sell to other members, as happened before within the 'jobs' area before it got taken down.

It's why the rules #4, #7, #18, #19 here ... ... were implemented, as at one time a few members were constantly spamming and promoting affiliated links to other members.

Hmm! Rich, as a long-timer here, you've been through the development of the WA, and I trust and rely on your experience. However, I see a big difference between "push" and "pull". If WA members had an ability to push their product to others, I see how it could lead to spam. The article you referenced is prohibiting promotions of your own business. However, my proposal was not to promote my own business, but have an ability to find out who among my connections is in the business of my interests. If I knew that Ron, John and Stephanie are in a travel Europe niche, and Rich and Sophia are in a bicycling niche, it would be up to me to go (or not) to Rich's profile (because I know him through WA community and trust him), find his "follow me on..." links and see if he offers what I am looking for my family bicycling. And yes, I could make a few extra bucks for Rich. What's the harm here? ;)

I think many members would be distrustful of my advice on a particular product, if they knew there was the possibility that I might earn more from one of them than another.

Would you exclude Bootcampers, who have products in the make money online niche, additional tools or rival training to WA?

What about those who design and build websites?

Who arbitrates when something goes wrong, as it did on a regular basis when WA had the jobs section?

With some affiliate programs, such as Amazon, it can be risky, as they specifically forbid this, and if caught members could lose their affiliation.

Also, there's actually a bigger issue, the majority of members in niches other than MMO won't share their sites anyway!

I see your point. I understand. You are a wise man, Rich. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and your wisdom with me.

Yours is a lovely, altruistic idea. It would be fantastic if it were possible to implement it without risk of rancour, but sadly after the 'jobs' fiasco, I don't think Kyle and Carson will agree to it, simply because they will be the ones who have to arbitrate any disputes. Sorry!
