OMG, My Frustrating "Internet" Experience - My Rants
Hello WA family
My rants ....
I was frustrated when I visited my website and I saw this ugly error :-
"Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '/' in /home4/carol88/public_html/nice-biz.com/wp-blog-header.php on line 12"
I was so .... sad ... and so I asked the great community for help ... and received many great answers. You can read here :-
So, okay, I now know it was plug-in problems, but how to solve them?
As such, I got a friend to help me to investigate my site and find out the real reasons behind these errors.
After some tests, he found that following plugins are not compatible with Latest Update of WordPress 4.3
1) Most Popular Posts
2) Yet Another Related Posts Plugin
3) Gravity Forms (Contact Forms)
4) Ozh' Who Sees Ads
And so, he helped me to deactivate all those plugins for now.
After which, I thought my problem was solved, the next day I found that whenever someone click on my site they will be redirected to another site!!
Another frustrating experience!! Very sad again ... But it was soon solved. ;))
I am grateful to my friend and I also really appreciate the wonderful help this community has given me; and has helped me solved this "frustrating" problem.
Can you imagine going to your website and having errors and not being able to see anything on yr website??
Anyway, this is my "ranting" sharing ... and if you have these problems (I hope not), don't panic, there are solutions :-

Hi Jewel, The rant is well understood , no need for apologies. Thanks you for sharing because we all learn more and benefit. I like Liz's answer ; keeping things to a bare minimum will help keep problems to a bare minimum too....I hope :)
Hi Jewel, I am so sorry to hear that you have had such a lot of problems with your site. I tend to use the bare minimum now on my site of widgets and plugins as they can give you so much grief when they start interfering with Wordpress.
Also, it is worth reminding everyone to backup their sites daily because the total loss of a site can be even more painful.
I am glad that you have sorted things out and would also like to thank you for mentioning my training.

Good to see you eventually got it all sorted out JC.
Isn't it fantastic that we have such wonderfully helpful people amongst us in this community of ours......I know for an absolute fact that if I wasn't here and had any problems like this it would be the end for me, I just wouldn't have a clue how to solve the issue or have anyone to turn to to help me out.
