The Healing Powers of Meditation
I strongly believe that there are healing powers in meditation.
The healing powers of meditation are broad and can heal a wide variety of maladies.
Eighteen months ago, I was first introduced to the eminent Dr. Lee, a Taiwanese octogenarian who is a neuropsychologist trained in both western and eastern medicine.
Originally I met with Dr. Lee weekly to help me overcome my bradycardia. I’ve struggled with inexplicable random incidences of bradycardia (low heart rate) where my heart rate would sometimes drop inexplicably into the low 30’s range.
We had first been meeting regularly over a period of 8 months.
By meeting with Dr. Lee at his home bi-weekly and doing my daily meditation - and also coupled with a good diet - my bradycardias all but disappeared over time.
Due to Dr. Lee's travel schedule and my schedule, we eventually had to stop meeting. At first I continued to do my meditation even after I stopped seeing Dr, Lee. Unfortunatley, over time I slowly decreased my meditative exercises, until I stopped them altogether.
Back to Daily Meditation
Since the recent unfortunate occurrances that have happened in my life, I have restarted my daily meditation once again based on the eminent Dr. Lee's teachings, and I believe it is really helping me.
Dr. Lee is primarily known to be a Qigong specialist.
As part of the meditative process, Dr. Lee had been teaching me Qigong through demonstrating a series of short 5-minute meditative exercises in different body positions.
Some of these exercises required that I first strike special handmade “bowls” that rings a droning sound to “take in” while I am meditating.
Now once again, whenever I am home, and I am repeating these same meditative exercises on a daily basis. Dr. Lee had lent me one of his special “droning bowls” he purchased in Tibet to strike where I am to take in the special relaxing reverberating sound during my daily home exercises.
I will continue my daily meditation, as it is grounding me and helping me through this slow healing process.
It's great to know that anything we learn, we can always go back to.
Thanking you all for your fantastic support.
Cheers,
Kaju

You're right...I'm doing it sporadically, but need to be more disciplined about doing it routinely.
You're right. I was working on a post last night, and had no idea I had passed the 2000 word point! By far my longest post ever!!
Didn't want to stop until I was finished, but at 3AM I still had several pages of notes I wanted to include, so will be finishing it today. Don't wanna lose that momentum.
Yeah, I finally published it yesterday. Total was over 4000 words!! Check out my latest when you get a chance.
Indeed it is, Fran. A Great Tool that never should have ignored, but its great to be back with it!

A nice post, thank you. Unfortunately I have never managed to meditate and I have practised yoga for years. Glad to hear meditation does work for you.
Wonderful that you still practice yoga. Surprising usually meditation and yoga go hand and hand.
Thanks for sharing this:)

I also meditate throughout the day for many years.
What I have experienced is love, peace, gratitude, happiness and joy.
For me personally I haven't noticed any health improvements but I have noticed regardless of whatever my current condition or experience is I seem OK with it.
I think of as an example leaves on a tree. They sprout out, they mature, they age and then they fall at rest. Only to start anew again.
But I am sure that meditation and prayer can help physiologically as well.
God Bless.
Ken
Fabulous comment Ken, everything you say is true. Meditation brings us an experience of love, peace, gratitude, happiness and joy.
It helped me physiologically, and now I'm back to it:)

That's great that you can use mediation to heal your mind and body. I fully believe in its benefits, even though I've never actually learned how to do it.
I think I kinda do my own version of it when I'm stressed. I go sit in a quiet place and just calm my mind and focus on a calming thought.
Hope you have a great Tuesday!
Michael
Thanks for sharing Michael. By sitting in a quiet place when you are stressed, you are indeed exercising a form of meditation.
The next level is to get your mind into that "void" state.
Best,
Kaju
