Site Rank Shocker: 28 Different Posts Ranked on Page 1 of Bing and Yahoo
Folks, I suppose by now you’ve heard me say this ad nauseum.
For the past 3 months I’ve been saying I would check my Site Rank rankings for my young website. But until today had not done so.
At first I said I would check them when I reached between 50-60 posts.
I didn’t want to obsess over my rankings.
I simply wanted to focus only on my writing without being distracted by them.
So by the time I reached my 60th post, I completely forgot about checking them.
More like intentionally but “unintentionally” called it off.
So I kept writing….and writing more.
Then when I completed my 80th post, to be honest I suppose I purely “chickened out”.
I used that one as an excuse and once again put my head down and kept writing…and then I would write even more.
Well Ladies and Gents, the time had finally come. I also knew checking Site Rankings was part of the SAC Challenge assignment, and it had to get done.
Finally, I checked ALL of my 113 post rankings for my young website ALL AT ONCE one-by-one today – it only has taken me until my 113th post!
Better late than never I suppose.
The Results
Here are my results according to Site Rank (Jaaxy) for the past 30 days.
Tell me if you think this is good news, I’m really not so sure:
- 28 out of my 113 posts published are all currently ranked on Page 1 of Bing and Yahoo - or 25% of all of my published posts.
- My Top 3 Posts are currently Ranked Number 1 of Page 1 on Bing and Yahoo.
- 15 of my posts are currently ranked in the Top 4 spots of Page 1 on Bing and Yahoo.
- 23 of my posts are currently ranked in the Top 7 of Page 1 on Bing and Yahoo.
Organic traffic and conversions are steadily increasing.
However, here is the not so good news.
My Google rankings so far are not up to par. I’m still waiting to get ranked on Page 1 for those low comp keywords I’ve been using. I don’t quite know why, it’s a bit discouraging but I will be checking my analytics and will be working steadily to improve that for sure.
However, overall I believe the Bing and Yahoo results are still more encouraging than expected!
So I will keep writing, and this time I will not be so averse to regularly check my rankings.
I’ve already started to keep detail records of my rankings, and this will definitely continue.

Kaju; I hear you. In my current(and only website so far) website, I have 7 keywords ranked on page 1 of Bing and Yahoo, and another 5 keywords ranked on page 2 of Bing and Yahoo, yet I only have 1 keyword on page 3 on Google. So, how do you think I'm doing:

I have the opposite problem, I don't rank at all on Bing and Yahoo, but Google love my blog posts.
3 out of 16 blog posts are ranked on page 1. One of the blog posts is ranked as number 1. And I have one blog post just outside Page 1, it's currently ranked as number 12.
This is stats from my blog in the internet marketing niche.
I also have a blog in the Health-Diet niche. There are currently 34 blog posts, but none of them rank anywhere.. Strange

It may actually be niche-related as to how well we rank in Google. I'm in the MMO niche, and perhaps my timing is not great, with the recent Google Core update. I hear many people complaining there Google rankings have recently dropped.
Nonetheless, will keep moving along.

That's great man, I am also seeing nice results with Bing and Yahoo although with Google is getting pretty hard lately.
I still think that Bing rankings are quality and it converts better. I am also seeing nice results (traffic) with Pinterest and YouTube so you could also make videos and publish them.
I hardly learned that although Google is biggest search engine, it's not everything and there are many other ways of getting quality traffic to your website.
We learn here to get free (organic) traffic mostly from Google, I follow the WA training but still, I obtain G rankings so hard and I don't think that training here does not work but Google is so unpredictable today that even if we do everything perfect when it comes to SEO there is no guarantee we will rank even in top 10 and not saying number 1 page..
Thanks for the reminder D, I need to get on it more with Pinterest and You Tube. They are both important traffic sources. Already posting regularly on LinkedIn.
You're right there are many different ways of getting traffic and quality leads. The Google Core update recently has hit many people hard in the rankings from what I am seeing.

Hi Kaju. Thanks for sharing. I am totally impressed with your progress. 113 post in 90 days must be a world record of some kind.
I am humbled too because I know I could shave done much better than I have, I need to get off the bench and in the race.
