Requiem for a Loved One Who Has Passed

This weekend of this year 2020 with Valentine’s Day now in the rear view mirror has been a bittersweet one for me. Thoughts and memories of the past have invaded my very core of a loved one lost.

They say that art is the best form of catharsis.

So that’s’the very reason I had to allow my “art” to take over. Once again.

Over the weekend, but this time art has manifested itself in video form.

“My Trip to Bora Bora” no doubt is my most elaborate work to date. The title should be self-explanatory.

Take a trip with me and Cherokee to paradise, our ultimate South Pacific vacation. Meet Puffer the Blowfish, Pepsi the Dog, and our other Special Friends we met along the way on our one-in-a-lifetime trip to French Polynesia. Now captured on video.

This original work is dedicated to Cherokee, who starred in this video – she is my ex-partner who passed away in 2016. I will forever hold you in my heart, Cherokee, and I know you have ascended to a better place.

There are no actors here in this video. They are all Real people and living things.

Here is a requiem, a bittersweet tribute to a loved one who will always be remembered. And loved. Through time immemorial.

Thank God there is always art.

Something that has saved me through time.

Something I could always rely on

Again and again.

Art has always been my friend throughout my life.

Once through musical creation.

Until a debilitating malady silenced it.

Now resurrected through videos.

Tonight I miss you, Cherokee.

I can still see you bathing in sunlight, faded in the distance.

Even though I have moved on with my life, you will always be loved.

Looking up, I see you.

Grateful that we once shared a life together. One day we will meet again.

Hi Kaju,

Beautiful video, I left you a short comment on YouTube.

I'm sorry to her about Cherokee's passing. Always remember that even if we live 100 years...it's nothing compared to eternity.

Happiness in eternity is God's plan for us. This life is but a day. The tears we shed now are the silver coins we pay for the happiness we've enjoyed, and the glory that is to come.

Blessings,
-ALLAN-

Thank You Allan, you honor Cherokee:)

Wow I am moved to tears listening to this wonderful tribute to Cherokee playing one of my favorite songs. My husband and I played it at our youngest son's 13th birthday aka bar mitzvah so it was very emotional. Artistic expression is such a wonderful way to honor those we love. Bravo!

Erica, this Iz classic song always takes me to a higher place, and your affirmation of being "moved to tears" has moved me and rendered me speechless.

Thank You for honoring my dearly departed Cherokee and affirming the tremendous power of artistic expression:)!

Oh my heart

Yes Dear, my heart bleeds but true friends like yourself help to make it heal:)

Yes, that is a beautiful tribute!

You are so fortunate to have those memories not only in your mind but in a physical format.

Many times in the past art has also saved me so I know exactly what you mean.

Thank you for having the courage to share this.

Thank You Susan, Cherokee was a beautiful soul and you are so right. I am grateful and fortunate to have these memories in physical format. This video will become even more priceless as times moves forward.

Art is a savior, we both know and have experienced its power to ease and provide courage to move on.

Being vulnerable is part of being human, and I don't mind exposing all of myself through my art for the sake of humanity. xxx
