Montreal Mural Festival

Last weekend we took a short “work-cation” and headed north for Montreal.

Here we attended the Montreal Mural Festival which ran the north-to-south for the majority of Rue Saint Laurent.

It was quite a cloudy day, but this made it very comfortable for walking.

Here's a 35 foot mural of a famous ballplayer, but I do not know exactly who he is (shame on me!)

There were some very interesting exhibits along this famous road that intersects the center of the artsy neighborhood district of Mile End.

There were lots of cool street art as well.

I suppose David Bowie is still BIG in Montreal, but they definitely do have a macabre sense of humor!

The best thing is that despite enjoying a nice artsy reprieve, I still did get alot of posting done in the evening.

While in Montreal, I was still able to write a new post on my site everyday.

So this was a guilt-free trip!

Especially after walking so much, going to Gibby's Steakhouse in Old Montreal.

If you are in Old Montreal, I highly recommend it!

It's located in in old stable house in a magnificent 200-year-old building in Old Montreal.

near the pier.

Hoping everyone is having a productive week:)

Cheers,

Kaju

Hi, Kaju.
Glad you enjoyed Montreal and what it has to offer.

I have very fond memories of Montreal from my 'Disco' days. We used to go out there at least once a month to enjoy the night life.

Those were care free days.

Thank you for sharing your experience there.

Kindest regards,

Paul.

We really enjoyed Montreal Paul, it is a great city. I can definitely see you have some amazing times there during your "disco days" on those side trips at least once per month.

Thanks. Next time we are in Toronto, I am definitely going to "ring you up" my friend:)

Kaju

Let me know when you are coming and we'll exchange numbers and definitely connect.

Later.

No doubt! You had me in "stitches" from your most recent Hubby 1.0 post!

Cheers.

Great photos. Beautiful artwork! That 1st pic of the person wearing the Sons of MX colors reminded me of a T-shirt idea. "Sons of Beaches" with the pic of a guy riding a beach cruizer. Or it could be Suns of Beaches, lol

Excellent point KC, I was in awe of some of the work. Thanks for your sharp detailed insights here:)

Great photos Kaju.

Derek

Thanks Derek, it was a nice trip:)

I wish I could do that, seeing other places with not constraints.

Seeing other places and WORKING while vacationing led to a guilt-free trip Jimmy!

Kaju. You must be a power machine. How do you get so much done in one day? And how do you keep yourself focused. I am in awe of you. Jim

The Mural Fest was a nice day getaway from work Jim, very relaxing and great food. That set me up in the perfect frame of mind to work in the evening.

Thanks Jim:)!
