It Pays to Get Feedback!

Sometimes we are just too close to our work to be objective.

Today I logged into my other video workshop group, where I posted my "My Trip to Bora Bora" video. And then I noticed I received one reply that read like this.

"Your cover image needs work bro. I'm not compelled to click on it. The background looks vivid, but the foreground lacks luminence." - Anonymous

That's when I realized what I perhaps thought was fine, was not even passable. So I thanked him, went into my photo editor and MADE THE CHANGE.

Now look at my revised Thumbnail - do you see a difference?

Would you agree that this 2nd version of my thumbnail above is BETTER and more Clickable than the 1st Version of my Thumbnail (image at the top of the post)?

Or do you think that this would not be a "deal breaker"?

Let me know, cause sometimes we are just too close to our own work.

All I can say is, it pays to get feedback!

Cheers,

Kaju

Either one would be ok, but thats just it ok is not ok as the commercial says! :) The 2nd is more vivid, and if promoting or sharing of a beautiful area, it should be the best photo possible.
Glad you got the trip in before all these travel bans and virus problems globally.

Thanks Bill, I'm happy to be back so I can finally answer you helpful comment. Stay safe and well.

Even though you were gone from the states, did you not have internet, or not because of the lockdown?

No there was a write-ban for 97 days on WA, it was removed today. I've been very productive during this period.

Not a deal breaker but new image is really clear and brighter

Thanks for your input Ross, I couldn't agree more!
At leaat this group is not as harsh on criticism as my other video production group is! But I like it all, but the good and the bad!

Feedback is a huge plus. I utilize this feature here at WA to the max. As a matter of fact I believe the feedback posters are getting sick of seeing my site. It is a great tool to get input from other individuals and learn what appeals, or doesn't appeal, to them. I have made several changes to my sites on aspects I would not have thought about on my own.

Feedback is essential for anything Adam, whether it be a website, a video. an ad campaign, or a You Tube channel, etc.

Sometimes we forget we need it even when we usually ask for it - that’s what happened to me and I’m grateful it got it!

2nd one looks great on a smartphone .Looking at it now. Thanks for the feedback!

Thank You for your great feedback and support Adam:)
If you truly would like to honor my partner Cherokee who starred in this video and has since passed, kindly subscribe and leave comment on the video. Your act of kindness would be symbolic and sincerely appreciated:) http://bit.ly/2T21P2N

Yes it does! Have a great day!

Thanks LN have a great day too, it’s the 2nd and it’s virtually unanimous!

The second one's foreground is definitely brighter. Though I'm not sure it would have made any difference to me, I would have clicked on it anyway.

Interesting Twack, that’s what I was trying to get at, whether most people would click on the 1st one anyway, or if it was definitely a deal breaker. No doily the I will keep the 2nd one though, I see it really stands out on a phone- which I am viewing fr now.

I think the fact that the 2nd one looks SO good on a smartphone is more of a dealbreaker for the 1st one.
