House of Yes
If you ever spend any time in NYC and want to delve into the underground art scene, a great night out during the Holiday season is at the House of Yes.
And some nights it’s really cheap. Like last night when we were invited for free (yes, FREE) to 3 Live showings of exceptional adult entertainment.
A Truly One-of-a Kind Art Experience
House of Yes has been referred to as a "truly one- of-a-kind.
From the crowd, to the production, to the theatrics, and even the restrooms. On any given night at a show you might see punk bands and marching bands, aerialists and fire- eaters, deep-house DJs and live body-painters, contemporary burlesque acts, rowdy comedians, and bizarre art installations.
House of Yes shows are never for the faint-hearted or easily-offended.
Yes….the House of YES is an irreverent colorful fantastical spectacle of circus entertainment, and colorful eye candy, which at times can be hilarious, flamboyant, graceful, and tawdry.
Think modern dada and surrealism mixed with comedy, acrobatics, hip-hop, dance culture, and an art show.
Never for the faint-hearted. And always immensely FUN.
The Neighborhood of Bushwick
House of Yes is a creative collective and nightlife performance space located on Wycoff Avenue in Bushwick, Brooklyn fusing dance culture, theatre, music, food, technology and community.
The House of yes far-reaching mission statement is "to create art that’s accessible and meaningful and a really good time too".
Bushwich is an artist community in the borough of Brooklyn in NYC known for its copious street art and rogue artists.
Which is the perfect environment for the House of Yes!
So if you ever want to see and experience some of the cool off-beat activities in NYC, and if you are BRAVE enough pick up tickets for the House of Yes!
Any and all of your comments are always welcomed!
Cheers,
Kaju

Great to see you back up and rockin' your bad self in the Brooklyn
Art scene, Kaju.
The house of "Yes' makes me smile, though I would be out of my element on this venue. pretty sure.
I have been tuned for the last hour listening to LP and think that she is absolutely one of my favorite artists... now you know more about my style.
Anyway, remain brilliant my friend. I shall tune in once again to your rolling view of the NYC color and lights.
Respect, as always
David R.
Thank You David, at least I'm off my back and feeling better. The Brookyln Art Scene is something everyone should experience, although it might not be their "cup of tea."
Curious to hear more about this female LP artist you allude to...any other hints?
Laura Pergolizzi, American Artist\songwriter...if you haven’t listened to her. Utube. Born Long Island 81. Alternative and Indie
Stagename LP
Thank You David, I will check her out on You Tube. Love to hear artists' I am not familiar with. Much appreciation:)
Sorry for this late reply as I was just pondering the truer sentiment of my original comment.
The Brooklyn Art Scene in it's eclectic urbanesque vision is so very much how I'm drawn . I know all about; To hunger, to resist, a bent toward arbitrary whim...Love love that about being human.
You may know this well...this, "Not a world of the status quo" but by definition a journey into re-definition.
It is the path by nature, colored splashes of "real meets the surreal" where we get rid of the bs. nature of our thinking and move toward possibility.
And yet bear with my sentimental state where Van Gogh, found his brush- Animated dashes capturing a very extra-ordinary view of an otherwise common event. Not so much mayhem,as dis=content
It is; that no matter how far I go to appreciate new, I am tethered to my natural fondness for making sense of it through my cognitive brain...to tie it to what is good by the past.
You only need go back a few posts referencing this romance in keeping the classic, the historical, the culture...Alive!
(Theres trouble in the village)
...And we have in our lifetime, Kaju an opportunity to make a superlative statement of original progress tied from these...To ultimately, Shine Brilliant.
Respectfully,your friend
David R.
Beautifully stated as usual David, the longing of fusing the old with the new.
We must always remember how important it is to tie to what is good by the past to our arbitrary whims toward re-definition.
Thoughtfully brilliant and profound.
Respectfully,
Kaju
Sounds really fun. Kaju, you'd make a great tour guide. I bet most people living in NYC aren't aware of all the places and activities that exist....let alone enjoy them. Thanks for sharing.
There are so many fantastical off the beaten path things you can do here in NYC..really something for everyone Debbie. You would love it and have a Great Time!
Good to have that kind of house you can be proud of. I was thinking there will come a time also that "A House of No" will be built as a campaign against any untoward acts bringing burdens to the societies.
Kaju,
When I get to NY City - I am looking you up for a grand
tour around - Brooklyn is where a friend of mine is will
have to ring him and see if he has ever been there :)
Thank you for sharing - love comedy
Susan
THis will be a truly unique experience Susan, and you and your friend would love it. Hope you meet up with your friend, my friend!

Hi Kaju,
That place would never be boring, how exciting! A good thing sometime is to shock us, we all get somewhat ridged as we get older and forget we were young once and always wanted to try something new.
This is right.....this is wrong....know what I mean? We can like something or not, that doesn't mean its not o.k. for others.
Although I feel planet Earth has enough smut to wallpaper the Grand Canyon. But that's just me, balance is what we must strive for.
Glad you picked up on something I can get my teeth into.
Cheers,
Jae ♫
It's Art, not smut, but House of Yes is Great Entertainment if one keeps their mind open, and enjoys the creative process Jae. Thanks!
