Strange feast Kaju, Best Alan

Yes indeed Alan it was very strange, but (within limits) I have always been open to adventurous travel and eating.

Thanks so much again Alan :) I have a new YouTube channel that's producing great content. Here's a great Tokyo story for you and the Efren match video play by play:)

If you don't yet, I will happily return the favor when yours is up.:)

Everything else sounded good, but the ants would be a no go. I don’t know about eating bugs man. Good for you for trying though.
Best,
Marcus

Yeah, that's hard I agree Marcus, but not so bad they taste like peanuts!

Oh Kaju. Hats off to you for trying the ants. Makes me queasy to even think about eating the ants and their eggs, though. Maybe I've had too many fire ant bites to even think about biting them back. LOL
Anyway, totally enjoyed your blog. Keep up the good work.
All the best,
Wendi

Thanks Wendy, I am an adventurous traveler as well as eater, so I may try many things!

I can't eat everything, I am diabetic.

I hear you Rog. But these ants contain no sugar! All protein, no carbs too.

Sometimes it's good to be a veggie;))

Lol Loes!!! I question being a carnivore sometimes!

only in NY. I'll stick with the brisket thank you.

Yeah Steve, except for that night, I think I will too. Actually on 2nd thought I will go so far as the beef tongue.

my grandparents used to eat that ... not me

Yep, I do prefer the traditional pastrami however.

Okay the big question: Katz or 2nd Ave Deli?

Ooo, that's a hard one! I'd go with 2nd Ave Deli.
For the atmosphere. Katz is way too crazy!

It is hard. I tend towards Katz because of the hand cut pastrami versus machine cut. Then again, 2nd Ave. is more like a restaurant than an experience.

True, there are pros and cons to both. But I'd still rather be in either one than someplace else!

AMEN to that. I need to do a NYC food run. Oh yes, I been known to do it... crazy as it is and it is crazy.

Hit me up when you do, I'll go on that run with ya!

deal

Gee, I thought I was brave when I was the only one who would eat fried grasshoppers my friend brought back from vacation when we were in 7th grade!

I'm adventurous with food, to a point............

Laurel

If you were brave enough eat grasshoppers, I know you would be able to eat red ant chutney, Laurel!

I would say: No thank you! Maybe some other time!

Ha ha! Lol! I can't blame you, to each their own Norbert!

I think you really have to turn your brain off for a moment when trying 'unusual delicacies'. I just wonder - was it the social aspect of not wanting to disappoint your client or the challenge of proving to yourself that you can achieve the seemingly impossible that made you try this? Either way, you are so brave, Kaju!

It believe it was a bit of both Sammy. By nature I am very curious and I love to experience new things and try different foods, and I also knew this would make my client happy.

So the end result was it was totally "win-win". Thanks for thinking I was brave, but I was only doing what comes naturally to me.

That's a great attitude, Kaju - always be open for new experiences. But I'm glad it was actually enjoyable.

Me too!

Wow Kaju you have some balls! Those ribs look amazing!

They were!! Fantastic Mark!!

I like the new profile pic, Mark. Welcome!

Thanks, it was long overdue. It's an old picture though I will get a new one soon
