They think they can outsmart You Tube and avert demonetization by having some sophisticated mechanisms set in place.

Perhaps in the short term they can.

Shameless people, to rip off our hard work! I must admit I've been negligent on the video scene, as there really doesn't seem to be a good place to put mine. Even though they are Alaskan, they don't really belong there because I promote WA at the end. Even though they promote WA, I've been told they don't fit on my "build2win" site either. So they just sit there, waiting for me to figure out what to do with them.

Thanks for stopping by Fran. Very true.
For your Alaskan videos, perhaps you can pitch one of your books, or figure out another product to sell that is more aligned with your video content. As you know, relevancy is key.

Fell free to PM me, if you's like to discuss.
Glad to see you well:)

Kaju

Well, thank you, Kaju. I believe I'll take off the end about WA and put in an advert for Alaskan Attitudes. Good idea! Then can leave them on the Alaska site. Now I just have to find time to do so.

Busy with my new group, "A Clowder of Cat Ladies." It's growing daily. Great fun...

Great. Fantastic, the new project sounds fun!

Wow! Thanks for enlightening us on pitfalls to avoid?
1. so even after "I will use royalty-free music I find on the internet as background music for my video, where the original artist actually gives permission for anyone to use their music on You Tube, as long as you mention them in the end credits."
If you did this - how did you get demonetised in that case?

2. all the hours it takes learning how to create great You Tube videos, - which includes story telling, filming, cinematography, lighting, music selecting, and editing - it can take a great deal of planning and time to even create a great 5-10 minute video of original content. - How long does it take you on average to complete a 5-10 min YT video from start to finish?
Thanks in advance, buddy

Hi John,

First, great to see you. YES, its happened to me.

1. It does not matter to You Tube, even if you include the original creator's music which they give permission for you to use as long as you give them attribution. You Tube will exempt your video from monetization. Unless its either your own original music, or you purchase licensing rights that is seen as legitimate by You Tube.

2. Literally, the way that I create my current videos (which is I do everything myself - I self-shoot myself with my iPhone, no help or crew), anywhere from 5-15 hours or more, including concept, scripting, filming, finding background music, editing, rendering, and uploading.

Then there are many more hours of promoting the video.

I understand why people want to hire VA's, its a time-consuming process (especially vlog-style videos like mine), and I will do this eventually later down the road, but I'm learning every aspect of the business "inside-out" and I LOVE and enjoy the creative process of how much of the video I can control, despite the amount of hours invested.

Agree 100%! Now, if you can add value by compiling some things that's different. Like a YouTube news personality, where they take current clips of things happening to YouTubers and make a news segment of it. So, they've added value to the compilation of clips they've made and they are talking/discussing the topic. For example, Scarce https://www.youtube.com/user/GoScarce

Absolutely (refer to my previous response to commentor).

What you are exactly describing is "remixed" content. I know this because for 2 years I've been involved with a You Tube group that teaches and proves this concept.

It's perfectly acceptable to upload "remixed" content, You Tube allows creators to take someone else's original idea, and "remix" it with a creator's own original idea, a trending concept, etc.. So it becomes a hybrid creation. In fact, this is what the BEST viral content on YT accomplishes.

However, "remixing" existing content is not the same as "ripping" another creators content - regardless of time length or embellishment - in the chronological order of the original.

Excellent example and a great channel!

Good Morning Kaju,

Oops, that hurts learning the hard way is not funny. Good you found out in the beginning. It is getting more and more difficult to navigate the waters nowadays. I do not see much of you on FB, I suppose all is ok?

Greetings from the south of Spain,

Taetske

Hi Taetske,

Your timing is actually impeccable....
I was "futzing around" with the controls in Facebook, and they automatically Disabled my account.

I then started a NEW account, everything seemed fine....the next morning they disabled tat one too! When I tried to appeal with a Review, they sent me a message..."...due to Covid-19, we are unable to review your appeal."

Very true, everything is harder these days.
Hope you are well!

K

If their reply were not so ridiculous I would say the FB reply is hilarious, but that is not a good word to use in these difficult times.
Anyway, to use Covid-19 as an excuse is beyond my comprehension.

All the best, Taetske

Thanks, I have to somehow get this sorted :(
