Sounds like very interesting place. I never thought a place like this existed! I will definitely put it on my list of places to visit.

It's amazing Thomas how many strange places like this exist. So intriguing and wonderful, I would love to visit many of them!

I love to visit unique places and Coober Pedy will be added to my list. Great article Kaju! Thank you for sharing this wonderful location with us.
Sue

This location has always intrigued me and seems to be a truly magical place, Sue. Thanks for the compliment, and glad you enjoyed this!

WOW, I would love to travel there and see the sights. You could have everything you want underground. What about artificial light to grow plants under the ground?

You would never really have to leave Lori, everything is there underground for you, all the shopping, restaurants, fitness center, churches, hotels, etc...and from what I understand there is quite a cooling effect below. And YES, they use artificial light to grow plants underground. Magical.

Sounds like a very interesting town. Will add it to my bucket list. Thanks for sharing!

A definite "must" Krystle if you are ever Down Under. I hope you will visit one day.

I have worked in Coober Pedy and it is unique. The dugout accommodation is something to behold!

Wow! What a privilege that's awesome.
You will have to elaborate on this Allegro -what was the feeling like living (even temporarily) below ground? Us peeps wanna know!

My previous role involved traveling to country towns and performing branch audits. Coober Pedy was a two-night stay every once in a while. We stayed in the "underground" motel and the inside temperature was quite a contrast to the outside heat. A truly unique place with some very special characters.:}

Truly awesome! Thanks for sharing this great story Allegro!

I'll put it on my "must see before I'm dust in the wind" list. Seriously, I'd love to visit The Land Down Under.

"Dust in the Wind", all we are is dust in the wind...etc" Lol! But seriously me too! Thanks for stopping by MA, stick around!

I was in Woomera, SA. A bit down the road from there.

You cam e much closer than me, Dr! I've been to Melbourne and to the Great Ocean road down under, that's it!

I would love to see the passage going underground.

There are many images on Google where you can see these fascinating passages, Jimmy.

Interesting place, but very far from here. :)
