A New Header Look at WA!
Well, I just returned and turned on my computer and had to do a double-take!
By now, I'm sure you all have noticed our NEW Header look here at WA.
The Top of the Dashboard now shows a new "Header" section containig the following from left to right:
1. Your Personal Coach - I suppose this is the person who sponsored us into Wealthy Affiliate a.k.a our mentor.
Would you say that I am right here?
2. Recommended Training - Is this a pre-selected recommended training from a WA member or from your mentor?
Or is always a selected training by Jay?
How and why did WA select this particular training?
Does the training under "Recommended Training" rotate periodically?
3. Learn About WA
Okay, when you click on "View it Now" it allows you to "toggle" down the far left column of the Dashboard i.e., "Dashboard", "Training", "Websites", Live Events", Research", Affiliate Programs", "Live Chat", and "Help Center".
This new feature seems like it was created to help newbies, as it merely highlights where to click to take a WA System Tour.
The far left column is a place we are all very familiar with, and is the place where we navigate on a daily basis.
Is WA Stressing More Interaction with Our Sponsor/ Mentor?
With this new update, it appears the implication is Kyle and Carson are now stressing we should contact our mentor/ sponsor directly for help more often, would you agree?
Are we to "reach out" more often, now that a direct link to our sponsor is in the header?
The "Learn About WA" points to the most important sections to help newbies find their way around more easily.
If so, that's Great!
WA is always trying to improve its overall member experience.
Nice top header addition!
I'd be curious what else Kyle and Carson have to say about this.
What do you think?

My new header says my personal coach is Kyle. I thought it would be the member who sponsored me. I’m confused. How can Kyle handle requests for help from thousands of members at once?
The header looks cluttered now. My feeling is it’s unneeded excess.

Hi Edwin,
The person who contacted you may or may not have the experience to be a coach, so we are careful about who is displayed as a coach in the new header. Some folks who refer others to WA are among the top affiliate marketers in the world and are absolutely capable to coach others.
If anyone ever needs help there are all kinds of ways to get that help, and one of those ways is to post a message on Kyle or My profiles - that is where the messages go when someone asks for help from the new header in WA.
Of course, if you're not a fan you can just click the little X and remove it - it's not for everyone, but absolutely helpful for someone just getting started.

Thanks so much for your reply. It makes a lot of sense now. Actually I felt honored to see Kyle as my coach. Pardon my facetious comment it was meant to be light hearted.
There’s no other online training program like Wealthy Affiliate. And showing one’s coach up front will be of great help to newbies.

Interesting Edwin. It appears that by default if the referring member is either a) no longer a member of WA or b) not helpful to the referred member
...then WA will automatically assign Kyle as the personal coach.

My personal coach is Jay (Magistudios). So are you saying when I click on Jay's link, it will automatically post a message on Kyle or your profiles?
This MUST be in addition to Jay's profile, as the test message I sent to Magistudios from the header went to Jay's profile.
That is the good thing about WA, they are always looking at improving the platform.

Oh, yeah I woke up and saw that. Cool new feature. I like it because it shows who your personal coach is. I remember an incident of a new member not knowing who their personal coach was. _ problem solved.
Yep, very true Jane. It appears WA us stressing more direct contact with your personal coach now.

Your mentor is the person you sign up under aka you click their affiliate link...

Probably or to at least clear up confusion for new people when they come in. So they know that they have a personal mentor
Kaju, good questions. I like this new feature on the dashboard. I think and feel that it will help us to get more involved as a community. The other two added features to help us to get more training and education. I will accept this needed excess. Solely, for the purpose of getting us to stay focused.
Indeed Brenda, I totally agree with you.. It certainly engages one to become more involved. I like the new Header, a great addition!
Oh my. I did glance at the new header earlier but only just. After your post, I had a good look at it and it shows my personal coach as Kyle! That's different.
The training specifies my getting back to where I left off a couple of days ago. Nice prompt reminding me to stay focused on training. I like it.

Interesting...I have a bit of a problem, as have never found out who sponsored me. I'm an orphan...
Yes, he is, but I joined from a post I saw on FB from some guy who was a member here. However, I don't know his name. It couldn't be Kyle, because the guy whose post I read was a black guy. Kyle doesn't fill that description.
The personal coach may or may not be your referring member. If it's not your referring member then it'll be Kyle. We cannot expect that the referring member is able to get back to folks in WA, so we are careful about who we suggest is your Coach :)

Hi Kaju, I was just noticing it myself. I had actually been away from WA the last day or two. We traveled to North Carolina yesterday afternoon for a concert my daughter has been looking forward to for the last couple of months.
We came back today...anyhow. I was in the process of looking at what is up at the top and realizing that it is a very useful tool. I don't know if WA is actually trying to get us to rely on our coach or not.
I may have a difficult time reaching mine...or at least it may take a few days for my coach to get back with me...he is extremely busy here...lol!
But, the lesson that is recommended is perfect as it lines up what is next in my Bootcamp training.
One thing that you didn't mention in your post...there is a small "x" in the upper right corner so you can close this header. I plan to keep it open.
