As of yesterday i was over the moon because i have 10% site trust on my website. I got a lot of people replying saying that this will automatically increase by 10% each month

Ya its a google site trust, and they are very slow at trusting us.

It's the search engines. If you look at the description under site trust that's what it states. WA can't control how the search engines evaluate your website.
Laura

Thanks for this advice Laura!

Now let's wait and see!

I would like to know that as well Jess...thanks for asking this...I'll just hang around and if I push the green button maybe someone will come running? LOL!

So if i use my laptop and my iphone from my house wifi are they 2 different IP addresses? Is the IP address just the wifi network you are using or is it different for every de

Goof information. Archiving it.

Hi Jessica

Your Public IP address is the address of your router not your local devices.

So your Router has an address which is used to connect onto the internet. This is the address you need to filter in Google analytics.

Your router then issues it's own separate IP addresses (Private IP addresses) to all the devices on your WiFi network. These addresses are only used internally and will not be recognised by Google they typically begin with 192.168.
To find your public IP address the easy way is to type this into Google

what is my ip address

And voila ! it will be displayed.

Hope this helps

Dave

That is very helpful, Dave!
I'm tagging it because of your comment......

Excellent explanation!!!

Thanks for the help.

Thank you all, your welcome!

Just as an additional note:

Depending on the ISP (Internet Service Provider) you may have 1 of 2 types of IP address.

Static IP address
-----------------------
This means your IP address is fixed and always remains the same

Dynamic IP address
-------------------------
This address is allocated on a 1st come basis by your ISP.
If your router goes offline or you turn it off for any reason then when your router connects to your ISP Servers again it could be allocated a totally different IP address.

So if you have a Dynamic IP address (the norm in many countries) you will need to check your IP address again and if different adjust your filkter settinsg at Google.

Ok, so i have a godaddy website that doesn't facilitate blogs. So i have added an RSS feed from another site of mine to display those posts. My question is: If i don't have

If it were mine, I'd switch it over to WA. Interaction is crucial to ranking with Google, Bing & Yahoo.

Thanks for the advice.

If your GoDaddy account supports WordPress, you should rebuild your site as a WP site and enable comments. Wordpress gives you the choice of creating static pages and blog posts, so i t would behove you to start fresh, then scrap the old site if you can. Yes. I know this sounds like way too much work. But it may be worth your while.

Another way to go would be to start an off-site blog on Tumblr or Blogspot - or http://Wordpress.com and link to it from your present site. Just don't forget to provide a link back to the main website or have the blog open in a separate window,

WOW! I would switch it over when you can because blogs are inevitable for great success.

thanks for sharing this

Yes, you need blogs and will need to investigate any plugins or theme changes that will help this function. Static pages will not promote as much interaction. The easier and more frequent refreshment of content is needed to advertise for interaction.

If i have an RSS feed from my WA website to my godaddy website for the blog, which means everytime i update my blog on WA it will show on godaddy will this help at all? It means there will be new content showing every week, people just won't be able to interact.

Did you create your website using word press?

No, this is one i created over a year ago with go daddy. i just paid my annual premium again and i like the look of it so i'm reluctant to change it over to WA

you do really need to have blogs and interaction to those blogs to develop trust. Do you have a contacts page for people to interact with you? Your content would have to be pretty high quality to get high rankings if you do not have blog. I think you may need to change it to include blogs!

The simple answer is you can't if you've just got a static website.

You don't need interactions on your site. But it helps build trust in readers' eyes & so long as the comments are relevant then the comments also add good quality content to the site.

Depending on how big the site is, it might be worth rebuilding using WordPress.

How much content is on the site?

There isn't that much data where it would be impossible to change over, just a pain when i am so busy with my WA website. And i just paid my annual premium to godaddy. and i like the look of my godddy website. I have an RSS feed sending my WA website blogs to my godaddy website, so whenever i update my WA blog the godaddy one will update. Will this help?

So you have the same content on both sites? That isn't such a good idea.

I'd either keep both sites separate - with different content. Or scrap one of them and focus on the other.

If you;re thinking longterm then a Wordpress site is better as you can use that with any host - WA Hosting, Godaddy - whoever. Whereas if you have a problem with your Godaddy saite - which looks great there, but you cant host elsewhere . . . you're going to be screwed if you cant move the site easily.

Hi, I currently have a website in godaddy that i have had for over a year. after learning all i have from WA i want to incorporate it into my godaddy website. For some reason

Hey Y'all just slid in here to learn something. That question has been on the back of my mind. But with so many others in front of it I hadn't got it out yet. Thanks Pj and Lisa.
Tim

I have said it before, the only stupid questions are those left un-asked. Never feel stupid, Jess. No need.

Jess, I am not positive but I think PJ means go to your site ie: planyourtriptoireland.com / feed

Thanks for the reply Lisa, you were right. i finally figured it out.

Thanks Lisa! TeamWork !!!!

My pleasure. Yes, teamwork is key, isn't it, PJ? So glad you figured it out, Jess :)

domain-name.com / feed

Remove the spaces

sorry Pj i don't understand your reply. do i go to domain-name.com / feed? If so what do i do when i get there?

LOL! Sorry, no..... put your website URL in place of it. Then, just add /feed to the end.

OH, and it may look like gibberish, because RSS feeds use an "aggregator" to read and format correctly.

thanks Pj, that worked. i feel so stupid sometimes.

No worries. It's just a matter of experience and time. Cheers!

How often should i crawl my website pages using google search console? I see i am given 500 per month. Should i crawl every day? every time i add content???? Just not sure

I thought that if you submit a site map, it would automatically crawl your site.

Thanks everyone for the replies

Hi Jess, ideally on each post you create in your website. check out Jay's steps after posting a new article: Hope it helps

OK Jess, What does crawl your website mean?

Jude, this means submit a link or sitemap to the search engines. Once notified, they send out a wee little 'bot that does the "crawling" check your site for new content and then indexing any updates to the search engine database.

From Jay's post:

This doesn't need to be done every time, but for larger articles (with more competition) go inside your Google Webmaster Tools and fetch your new article's URL as Google. This is located in:

Crawl > Fetch as Google

After the fetch is complete, click the 'submit to index' button.

Thanks Pj, I just had to ask! Now I'll have to learn even more! lol
