It's OKAY if You Don't Know Your Purpose!

If you've tuned in to what I've had to say in any of my blog posts, I usually spend my time telling y'all about the walls that I personally face. This is because I want to share what has worked for me, so that maybe it can work for you, too! What I say can also be a different perspective for you to look from. So, remember that!

Anyway, this has been a struggle I've had coming out of graduating from college for basically this entire year. I have yet to truly find what exactly my purpose is in this world. It kind of gets me down sometimes, but I don't need sympathy. I take great pleasure in personal growth, and I have done just that this year.

I have some very strong opinions/stances on what people like to call "tough" topics like race, religion, politics, whatever. And that's okay. What's important is the person behind those beliefs. By gauging one's character, you can see how far they've gotten in their personal growth. Like I say in my bio, never judge a person by their cover. Pick their brain, and you'll understand more where they come from and how they think.

Since I graduated, I realized that my degree is completely useless in every field but the one it applies to. On top of that, I also realized with my internship, last summer, that I would absolutely hate the profession I had studied the last 4 years for. So, what did I do?

Well, like I alluded to in my last blog post, I was hung up in my own head, dwelling on my past. I always had the thought in my head that I just wasted 4 years of my life, these past few months. But, about two months ago, my mindset changed for the best.

My character is growing, my views are evolving, and my priorities are shifting.

I even left my friend groups so I could grow. It was a necessity, since most of them are just wallowing in their own misery and the state of the world. I think they're all great people, but there are just some things that aren't meant to work out, and these groups I left are some of them.

I cut out the cancer in my life, and I made room for those that allowed me to grow.

I've never been at such a high point in my life as I am right now! And, I still don't know what is best for me yet. I believe that God has a plan for me, but as it stands, all I see is murky water in front of me.

AND THAT'S OKAY!

Focus on what is right in front of you, and don't let your anxiety for the future overwhelm you! I have had to tell myself this countless times, and I hope this helps you as well!

Just remember to prioritize what's important over what you may want, or what others want from you, regardless of how it makes others feel. If you're not growing, then what are you doing?

Excellent post Jesse! and jettison the dead weight people who were on Hi way 95, like 95% of the population. (The 95'ers.) But your life path is Whatever It Takes, as you work the higher road, harder road, the Walking Circumspectly chalk trail of chocks across a rock face.
FEAR is
Face
Everything
And
Rise

Jesse chooses soaring like an eagle riding thermals in the sky!
The path less traveled, is where we are most comfortable.

We can come down, but flippy little critics, and other who won't dig the spade into their soul to find their own mother load of riches for this life, won't come up to stay.
The air is too rare. Their pillow and remote control waits for them on their couch, while Jesse's dreams won't let him rest.

Just Zaying my Friend! I know your relentless heart, I have one too.
Suzay

For sure. Thanks for the fire, Suzay!

Jesse, you are an Awesome youngin' keep rising!

Hi Jesse
People talk about purpose as if it is a single fixed role in life.
I’m in my late 60s and with hindsight I’ve had a number of different purposes, at different ages, for different parts of life and for different reasons.
:-)

I'm slowly learning this as well, Richard! Life is a rollercoaster after all, and I think the best we can do is live for the moment. Tomorrow is never guaranteed. Thank you for your input, it means a bunch!

Hi Jesse
I think there is a small distinction worth considering...

It’s the difference between living ‘for’ the now and ‘in’ the now.

Whether we make the most of it or not, we can’t live at any other time than ‘in’ the now... and our percieved future, by the time we get there, is now!

However, the quality of now today is heavily influenced by the quality we lived in the now, yesterday.

So yesterday we lived ‘in’ the now ‘for’ the benefit of both yesterday’s now and for the benefit of perceived future nows.

I.E. Today’s now was in part created in the now of yesterday.

Does that make sense to you?
:-)

Richard, this is a Les Green kind of mind expanding explanation, and truly true. Well written by you!

Definitely! You pretty much included everything in my mind that I squeezed into my response to you, I just didn't want to put another blog post in the comments if you know what I mean :)
Richard, I really appreciate you my man!

Thank you! I wish the same for yourself!
The only way is up!
