I just got finished making a post and now none of my posts are appearing on my website. When I am on the homepage I see the posts, but when I click on them I get an error messa

Glad to see you fixed the problem all the best Max

Thank you Max.

Please include a link to your website so I can see what's going on.

I added the link to the post.

Hi Marion,
I figured out the problem. However it was caused by an affiliate program that wanted me to embed a JavaScript code in my website and I must have placed it incorrectly. If you knew where that should go that would be a big help. Thanks!

You want to tweak your WordPress Permalink settings Use "Post name" instead of "Plain" it not only looks better for your readers but it's the setting you need when you start using Pretty Links Where did the affiliate company tell you to place the code? You may need to create a child theme so you don't break your website again

The affiliate program said to place the code on the homepage. I am still not sure how they want that, which is why I ran into trouble. Thank you for your help and I will check out these trainings.

On my post page on Wordpress, every column that says SEO title, content, and keyword is blank. Should there be something in there? If so, is there a training that would explain

Hi Jess -
Jay did a great 4 episode video training series on Niche site building. I highly recommend you take a look at all of them. They are about an hour to an hour and a half each.

But to answer your question, take a look at Part 3. Fast fwd the video to 11:45 and he'll explain how to use that area. I'm leaving the link below for you. If there's anything else I can help with, please let me know. Good Luck!

Thank you. I will be giving this a look.

Jess,
You can add keywords, but you do not have to have anything there to get ranked.
I am still working on that too!
Sheila

Thanks Sheila!

I believe that there should be something under keywords for a start.
I am new here also, but I think from training, you need to add keywords to each post.

So when I log in to my website, I am not able to see any of my posts. I can click on the "edit" button but when the page comes up the box that should contain my post is empty.

Hi have you checked this out, it might help with your problem if you can't see anything in the visual tab, but it is there in the text tab...

I have the same problem with pages. I published it and it did not show up on my site. I waited a couple of days and kept checking. In admin area the page shows published but nothing shows up on my site. Deleted that page and started over and same problem again.Anyone else out there with this problem?

I am not sure if this will work but it is worth a try. When you go into all posts do you pick the post you want to edit and click on edit below the name? If so try this. On the right hand side in the section when you can click preview at the top of the list there is a pin that says status. beside it will be published or Draft and next to that edit. click on the edit. A drop down menu will appear choose whichever suits what you are doing. Click on that and see if your page appears.
When you are going to write a new post I find I have to +new at the top of the page to get the editor to work properly.
I hope this helps you. I am not an expert but when my editor gets hissy this is what I do and usually it comes around eventually.
Let me know if it works for you.

Thanks so much for this! I'll try this tomorrow. I appreciate your input.

I've never had that happen before. Have you tried logging out and back in again?

Just saw your reply - yes I tried that multiple times.

I'm not sure then. Some others have commented with ideas too, maybe try those and if all else fails open a Site Support ticket under your Site Rubix menu.

ROCK ON!

So every visitor that comes to my website and leaves me a comment gets my picture as their avatar and not their own. How do I change this?

Hi,
I never heard of this problem before but you can try to do the following:

Go to your dashboard and click on "settings ->discussion".

Scroll down to the bottom.
What is ticked there and what is the default avatar?
Maybe you managed to set the "default avatar" to your own picture somehow?

Thank you so much. That was the problem!

Awesome!
I am glad that your problem could be solved that way. :)

I want to reference an older post of mine in a new post I am working on. I see the "Edit Link" button on the top of the page but I could have sworn I saw a training video that s

you want to have internal links within your website, that is one way you develop an authority website

if you need to change an internal link, do so

all the best,

While in your editor highlight the link you want to edit, then click the link button, you can update the link from there by scrolling through the pages you want to link to from your site.
I do not know who told you not to do that but it is okay to update links if they are no longer working or going where you want them to go.

San

Thanks San. I did just that but for some reason I just had it in my head that it was wrong. Thanks again!

You are welcome,
It is never wrong to update things that are not working or not working the way you want them too. It is your site, make it be an extension of who you are, kinda like it says hello to people when they see it.
