I think Beach Volleyball is a fabulous niche! You're talking about some real athletes here. Quick keyword search turned up over 33,400 results with a QSR of 199! (QSR is competition; you want it under 300 to be viable)
I see absolutely no reason why you couldn't do really well with this. There must be hundreds of products you could discuss here. Remember, your keywords will rank within your articles, so your readers don't necessarily have to be searching for anything to do with Beach Volleyball in order to get great information from you. In any case, there seems to be plenty of interest in the subject.

Women's beach volleyball is probably a decent niche. You may find that it is even too broad. The search results may not show very much traffic coming in for each keyword, but after you have targeted quite a few keywords, the traffic adds up. I just ran a quick search on Jaaxy and it looks to me like there is plenty of traffic to many different keyword searches for women's beach volleyball. I think you're good!
