Building my Beautiful House

Designing my Beautiful House

I had a vision of what my dream house would look like. It would be a wonder for people to see and marvel at. It would have many rooms that were spacious but well decorated. It would also have utility so a person could work there as well(writing, painting, sleeping, etc).

The decor may not be what each person would prefer but would reflect my personality and state of mind. Each of us have our preferences for beauty and elegance. Your appreciation for beauty and mine may not be the same. We each have different backgrounds and preferences.

I found in my travels and education some things that would later help me design my beautiful house. Some of the plans called for a large spacious room, while other parts or the plan the room was tiny and cramped. I looked at my experiences and selected the best from each plan to build my beautiful house.

I noticed one thing from all of the plans I had looked at, YOU MUST HAVE A SOLID FOUNDATION!

Building my Foundation(really easy)

Building your foundation for your beautiful house is actually quite easy. You decide how much room you will need. You divide that space into subsets(rooms) and lay out the path to each room. You have to know how high your walls need to be. You can also employ the aid of an architect. One like Les Green, who will be honest with you as to what is needed.

You need to know what type of surface you will be building on. If the surface will not support your structure, you will have to relocate or change your plans. The point is to know all of the strengths of where your foudation will be, what it will be resting on and if it will be structurally sound.

The Foundation Has Been Set

Having a Budget is a Must.

Once I decided on the size of my home, I took some advice from a really smart man. He has twenty-five plus years in building all manner of buildings. He stated that one of the key components to building is the cost. If you try to build without knowing the cost, you will begin to have problems even setting the foundation.

Once you decide how much the total structure is to cost, you start making plans that will affect the overall structure of your beautiful house. You plan for the foundation, the walls, the flooring, and yes even the decor. You don't want to leave anything to chance and even plan for the unknown.

You want to stay within your budget. You have everything planned and it is all coming together nicely. You continue working on your beautiful house with enthusiasm and hard work. You ask others for their opinion on what would be the next step. They are leaders in their respective fields. You begin to feel overwhelmed.

Your Frame Is Up.

Beginning to take shape!

You have built your frame. Your house is beginning to take shape and the form is pleasing to you. Oh no! You have just been informed that you are missing some important notifications that must be on your worksite for it to continue.

You feel confused since you were following all the steps that you knew. You wonder if maybe you should just give up and walk away. You take a look at what you have done, as well as what needed to be done. The fault is yours!! You did not read all of the information presented and skipped ahead missing some of the most valuable information for the requirements of building.

You get the necessary information posted, to stay legal. You are at a crossroads, proceed or quit. If you quit, you are quitting on your dreams and on yourself. But still, you feel letdown and depressed because you were not able to finish on time. This was to be your beautiful house.

Tragedy(blessing) Strikes

A Tragedy for Most

What would have been a tragedy for most people, you look at as a blessing. You have an unexpected illness that should have killed you. You survived the illness and were on the path to a complete recovery when another tragedy strikes. You once again, overcome the odds and begin the long road of recovery to start working on your beautiful house.

You still have not fully recovered but start making progress on your beautiful house. You have the foundation(solid) laid, your walls are well built, you can move to each room with ease and your roof is well-designed. You even have the option to add many more rooms without having to compromise the aesthetic beauty of your beautiful house. You are starting to get a better feel for what is needed to adding more and more to your house. ALL IS GOOD!

Security for Your Beautiful House.

While building your house, you take advantage of some of the best security there is. It is almost impossible to break the security to your house. Some even say that the security is impenentrable. You sleep well knowing that your house is safe and completely protected. Or is it?

You have only had a couple of issues with security, but those were minor. What do you mean that I can't get into my house? I have the paperwork on it and regardless of what others may claim, this is my house!

You can have the best security in the world for your house or your website but if YOU do not follow the security measures put in place to keep your beautiful house secure safe then anyone can come in and raid your house.

Truth be Told

The truth always comes out. I received an email from Wealthy Affiliate that someone had changed the password to one of my websites. I was able to reset the password to block the individual from coming back into my website.

This only happened because I had forgotten to sign out. I have had this happen to me once in the past and got sloppy in my signout procedure.

Wealthy Affiliate gives us all the tools for building our websites(beautiful house). They give us plans on how to set up our websites. We are given training material for adding on(posts/pages) for more rooms. The give up the knowledge on how to make our websites attractive(decor) to our audience/visitors(plugins). They give us the best security for our websites unless we fail to do our part.

We are given all the tools to be successful. It is up to us to be alert to mistakes we make and use the knowledge we have learned to fix those mistakes.

Site Support is a great part of our community and is one of the best in the industry. They are often acknowledged for the fast response time when they receive a problem to fix. There are times that they have to get inside a person's head to understand what the true problem is.

I wondered if you were going to connect building the beautiful house to our WA businesses.

When you talked about walking away, I was thinking, "NO! You can't walk away in the middle."

We did actually build our beautiful house and we live in it today. My husband was in carpentry and you get quite the deal when you do most the work yourself :)

And that's kind of like our businesses too. We are the ones putting in the work to build our beautiful websites. And we shouldn't quit!

Thanks for a great analogy, Jerry.

Lynn

It can be a long and difficult process for a house or a website, especially when outside factors come into play.
Jerry

Thanks so much for sharing this. I had made the (obviously now incorrect) assumption that I’d automatically be signed out after a time delay! Wrong 😳
So from now on I shall be vigilant and sign out each time!

Best wishes,
Lesley

I am glad that I was able to be of some help. I once thought that as well until someone changed my password now I am vigilant on signing out.
Jerry

Wow! excellent post. during my read, the keywords were hitting me over and over, I got to understand keywords in this post.

Thanks for sharing.

Elizabeth

I am glad that you able to find the keywords in the post. I hope that you are signing in and out of your website to keep your website safe.
Jerry

Yea! Thanks but not as often as I should.

Oh my!
Are we really supposed to sign.out?
Did you log in via site manager or word press?
This is proper scary!

I signed in from site manager. It does not matter which way you sign in, if you do not sign out then your site is open to anyone that gets to the change password area. They can sign you out and site support may be the one who has to go back in to reset your password for you to get back in. I went to site manager and was lucky enough to be able to reset my password to keep someone else out of my site. It is always best to sign out to prevent someone from stealing your work that you have worked hard on, even some that you are still in the process of refining for publication.
Jerry

Where is the sign out button?

When you log into your back office go to the upper right hand corner. You will find your profile name and picture, hover there and it will ask change user or logout.
Jerry

Learning so much
Thank you

This I too would like to know. This can happen to any of us after all.

Candy Benn

Thanks. I try to help when I am able to.
Jerry

To logout of your website, login from site manager, go to the upper right hand corner of your back office, you will see your profile picture hover over it and you will have the option to change user or logout. This will help keep your site safe from those who would do it harm.
Jerry
I hope this was helpful.

Thank you, Jerry. It is.

Candy Benn

I NEVER sign out! Thank you for your words of wisdom! I’ll do this in the future!

This is one of the life lessons I have learned at Wealthy Affiliate. I thought that if I just shut down the site without signing out that all would be fine. That is not the case, someone can come in and change all of your hard work. You might be able to restore it but that is work you could have spent on other articles.
