What is LEADERSHIP?
Leadership is defined as someone who is honest, delegates authority, has the ability to communicate with a team effectively, maintains stability while keeping the team working toward a common goal.
You notice that I did not say that a leader is charismatic. They may draw people to them which some say is an attribute of a leader but that is not necessarily so.
Who are your leaders?
Are your leaders people that you personally know? Is it the older person that seems to be in charge of the office or the person who seems to have all the right answers but none of the responsibility? Is it the young person who has came up through the ranks or the young person who has a degree?
Is your leader from a social group that you belong to? Is your leader from your church?
Are You a Leader?
Yes!!!! You are a leader. When you become an authority in you niche, business, or industry, you have become a leader. This will happen without your approval. You may not want it but it is part of what you become when you are recognized for your achievements in your field. People from all areas will be asking advice on everything dealing with your niche. They will ask how long it took you to become successful. They will want you to give them advice on how to become as successful as you.
This role will give you influence in your niche and the people around you. There will be days that you just want to shut everything down and have some quiet time but as a leader you do not have that luxury. Your opinion is valued.
Where do our leaders come from?
Our leaders at WA come from the community! They are sought out partly because of their expertise, partly because they are successful and partly because they are just plain nice people who love to see others succeed. Our community is "pay it forward" but it is more than that. We are training all of our members to be LEADERS in their own area of expertise. We are planning for the future of everyone here.

Hi Jerry,
Enjoyed reading your post on Leadership.I am a
Leader in different walks of life. Whether it be parenting,
a good husband or Helping people, these are my strengths.
Leadership takes on Responsibility and Accountability also.
However, Leaders Come and Go. Someone else will take over
the Reigns.. Here at WA Our Leaders Give Us All that We ask for.
Some Leaders will dish out some Constructive Criticism and
that's ok.. It's a good thing. Others, Strive on Perfection and
Organization.
They are Our Teachers.

Just want to rant a little bit, being a leader in a corporate is totally different from being a leader in your own business.
In a corporate, I've learn that there are boundaries and it was just a matter of time for me to be "institutionalized" - I know what I can do and what I cannot, and I rarely push myself to the limit and achieve my potential.
But in my own entrepreneurial path, I tend to push more on myself. I have to take full responsibilities, accept all the successes and failures, even sometimes the learning curve is steep and accepting the failures is kind of bitter.

But as a leader here at WA, you should be willing to help those who may not have progressed as far as you have. That also is a part of leadership.

Enjoyable, positive power of leader encouragement, read and may I say thank you for continuing to" pay it forward. Hakunna Matta, we learn. employ, and keep on keeping on with our WA socializing traffic pace to keep the content always moving steady and UP.
I am a leader in my niche. I did not choose to be..as you said..it happened because I took actions to lead a group of people in something I was passionate about. Because of that, I built a following of people that trust me and that I have now built a business from in my niche. Joining WA back in December gave me focus and information to take it further. I have not had a lot of time to be very active in WA right now..but I do love this community and all the help it provides!
