What Choice Would You Make

If you were faced with news that was unwelcome, what would you do? Would you get all the information possible about the news and make positive changes? Would you just accept the news and live your life as if everything was ok? Would you put your head(figuratively) in the sand and hope for the best?

If there were more than one piece of news that was negative coming in relative short periods of time, how would you deal with it?

How you view the world and all of the news that is negative out there it is easy to just accept bad news and continue on with life. Your mindset and outlook will determine how you look at bad news. If you have let the troubles of the world take priority in your mind then you will most likely have a negative mindset and it will define how you receive such news.

Learning to accept news of any kind is much easier with a positive mindset. This does not mean that there will not be challenges or adversity. It means that the power within you will help you to overcome those times of adversity.

Negative Choices

Negative choices will leave you feeling defeated. You may feel as if whatever you do will fail. You may feel an overwhelming weight holding you down.

You try to overcome such feelings but you do not seem to have the energy or a path out of such darkness. You look for others to help you out of your circumstance but the guidance seems too radical for you to attempt.

You try on your own without asking others for help, but the effort seems pointless. You have already looked at every possible avenue of overcoming your obstacles but to no avail.

Positive Choices

Looking at any situation that seems negative can be turned into an occasion. Once you have changed your mindset from a negative to a positive, you see possibilities you never imagined. Others will come to your aid without hesitation or encouragement. Finding a positive solution comes in many forms.

You take whatever bad news you receive and look for the positive parts of the news. It may be that you are in the process of increasing your power of positivity and are now challenged to expand your awareness. The bad news may be a way to become closer to family and friends. You may now have an avenue to express to others your faith in a higher power.

This may be a time for self-reflection at your life and find ways to make it more positive. Letting go of old negative habits will take time. Changing from poor me to what a wonderful, exciting time we live in will take work and patience.

Choice I Made

In the last six weeks, I have been faced with two pieces of news, which on the surface seemed brutal.

The first bit of information came from my primary care physician. He informed me that my blood sugar level was high. I was surprised by this news since I thought I was eating a healthy, well-balanced diet. He wanted to prescribe a medication for Type 2 diabetes. I refused the medication and told him that I could lose weight and start eating with fewer carbohydrates in my diet.

Four weeks later, I had my followup with my doctor. I had lost ten pounds overall and four inches in the waste. He was pleased with my progress. He gave me the option again of using a medication to control Type 2 diabetes. I, again, told him that since I had made progress on lowering my blood sugar that I would continue that path. He was pleased with that decision since I had lost 190 points in my blood sugar and was within 50 points of the goal he had set for me.

When visiting my primary care physician, he referred me to an ophthalmologist for a medical eye exam. I had no idea that my eyesight had worsened. Visiting an ophthalmologist was a new experience for my. I had never been too one. After the exam was over, my ophthalmologist informed me that I was not to drive anymore at this time. I had noticed during the exam that I was unable to see the largest letters on the exam board clearly. This was unnerving to me. I was greatly concerned.

She informed me that I had cataracts. She prescribed some drops for my eyes to help them heal as much as possible in the next three weeks. I had a bit of concern after my exam. She had dilated my eyes in order to get a better look. My eyesight did not return in the three hours that was the normal time frame, it took seven hours.

It was at this point that she informed me that I have cataracts. I know that the surgery for this is almost routine in some places. When I return to my ophthalmologist in three weeks, she will tell me when to expect my surgery.

She told me that my eyesight will continue to fail over the next three weeks. It may but it may not. I will continue to work as long as I can on my websites as much as I can.

I have accepted the news of the past six weeks as just another challenge I have to face. I know that I will have good eyesight after the surgery, for which I am thankful. I am already down to less than 15 points away from the goal my doctor suggested for me. I have lost another ten pounds since last Wednesday and another two inches in the waist.

My CHOICE to all this news is to keep going forward. I have the best PHYSICIAN on my side. I put my belief and trust in a higher authority. I will be healed and restored. I CHOOSE to be POSITIVE.

Thanks for reading and commenting.

Our choices have such far reaching consequences. Thanks for sharing you story. Its quite inspirational.

Our choices do have long reaching effects on our mindset but when you choose a positive outlook you have a better chance of overcoming obstacles.

Sorry to hear about your pain. I hope you are feeling better now.
The fact that you believe in getting better, is a way to help you actually get better. Your positivity will recover you.

Thanks for the support. I Will continue to more forward.
Jerry

You're most welcome.

Glad to hear you are choosing the positive choices for sure!

FYI, I've had cataract surgery in both eyes. Spend the money to make sure it's laser surgery. Didn't hurt at all, Lots of drops to put in your eyes afterwards (I learned the easiest way to do it from a great YouTube video which made all the difference!). My eyesight was so different afterwards - I could see more clearly, colors were brighter, it was great. Just know, however, that you will probably need reading glasses for anything closer than 18", but it's worth it! If you've got some questions, let me know.

I am prepared for what is to come. I had no idea that I was almost blind in my left eye. I look forward to being able to see clearly once again. She said that is was probably due to so many changes in my life for the last two years. I have had several tramautic events in the last two years that could have caused this to happen so rapidly.

Jerry, your positivity is infectious and you have persevered through a lot of physical trials! Very well done!

Jeff

I have no choice but to persevere. After having literally facing death twice almost two years ago, I have become even more determined to succeed.

You're spirit is an inspiration to us all, Jerry!

Jerry, I am really sorry to hear about your bad news at both physician and the ophthalmologist.

Your positive approach doesn't surprise me

He who has belief in a higher authority will always be positive

You are in my prayers.

It is just another set of challenges for me to overcome. I CHOOSE TO BE POSITIVE. The positive energy will also help me find ways to overcome and be healed. It also allows me to find other ways to search for content and get posts ready for publishing. I will do the fine detail work after my eyes are healed.
