Blessings of a Lifetime

As the year draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on this past year. Wow, what a year!

Putting things in Perspective

To put things in perspective, you have to look at everything that is involved in the situation. What is important and what is not.

I have to back up to August 2018 in order to get a full grasp on this year. In August 2018 there was a massive tree limp that basically destroyed my home, however, we were blessed to find a way to rebuild our home.

I was making good progress on my websites and was forced to take time off dealing with getting our home ready to be rebuilt. This was to be a temporary time away but lasted until recently. We were eagerly waiting for word that the reconstruction was about to start.

March 2019 arrived and we were no closer to construction than before. I was starting to get frustrated and angry about the length of time it was taking and became ill. I went to the doctor for a checkup and waited to hear the results of the tests that I had undergone.

April arrived and I was feeling worse than I had ever felt in my life. My wife was having to help me up from a sitting or a laying position. It was now time to return to the doctor for my follow up checkup. He told my wife to take me to the hospital immediately. We were still no closer to having construction start on our home.

Pain and Blessings

I was admitted to the hospital immediately. I had a blood infection that had killed the aortic valve in my heart. I could not have surgery right away and had to wait. The blood infection had to be taken care of before anything else, otherwise it would have been for nothing. Twelve days later, I had my surgery. All went well. I was unaware of how badly my health had deteriorated in just a few short weeks. I recovered more quickly than was expected.

I was dependent upon my wife for everything. She took over my recovery and pushed me to do all that was required to get back on my feet. She also took over the plans to have our house reconstructed. There was still no action on that front. We learned once again what it meant to depend upon each other, as it was when we first married.

On our anniversary we signed the paperwork to have our house rebuilt. Praise God for this. I was recovering quite well when I contracted a disease that caused me to be paralyzed. I was airlifted to another city where they had the facilities to deal with this disease. I was told I would be in the hospital for one year. I walked out eight days later with the use of a walker. Another miracle. I still could not feel enough to type and the desire to continue all but died due to starvation. On my birthday in August we told the builders what our color scheme was to be. We were finally on our way to having our home rebuilt.

I was beginning to regain my interest in WA. It was to be a longer process than I would have liked. Finally, our house was completed. We moved in November 30. I should say that the Knights of Columbus volunteered their time to move us from an apartment to our new home. It took them only two and one-half hours to complete the move. We were finally home. The time away had taken a great deal of my passion from me since I was concentrating on overcoming all that had happened.

Blessings received

know that I have been blessed this year. My home has been rebuilt. I was given a new heart for the Lord with my surgery. I saw in a dream that this is what was expected of me. I had another dream a couple of nights later in which I was told that I would experience pain in my hands and feet so I could know what the teachers of the faith went through as they were and are still spreading the Gospel. In June this came to pass. I do have most of the feelings back in my hands but not my feet. I was told to may be years before I get that feeling back due to all the miles walked in ministry. I have been thrice blessed this year and am glad for it. I know that with diligence I will overcome the obstacles that are in my way(mainly myself).

If you study the material here, ask questions and put into practice what you have learned then you have opened a multitude of ways to enrich your life. You need to "Pay it forward" for others to succeed as you did.

Praise God from Whom all blessings flow! You certainly have a great testimony of what our Father has brought you through. It is good to know that you are doing better and can continue with your WA business. It's easy to become our own obstacle when we face terrible trials. Keep up the Faith. That will get you through anything.

Take care and
have a blessed week
