Be Still and Listen

For Peace to Enter In

As I sit with eyes closed

I listen to the sounds around me

I hear the Robin and the Sparrow welcome the day

I listen more closely to the bark and play of Squirrels so happy today

I listen more closely and what do I hear

But an Elk snort and a Moose bugle from far away

I let all tension from my body flow

to the spring or babbling brook down below

I hear some distance away

The cry of a Cougar and the howl of the Wolf

I listen more fully than before to the Sound

of my inhaled Breath and the sound of my heart

To my surprise, I heard a whisper and then a cacophony chorus of a Glorious Sunrise

You too can hear, feel, smell and taste the Dawn of a New Day.

Reach out with eyes closed and feel the surroundings at hand,

Still your heart and let in the Peace and Majesty at Hand

Let go of all that clogs your sense and feel the Creation that is within you.

This is a great suggestion to create our own zen moment each morning. Thanks.

This is not something that I have had an active part in. Each morning, I, now, find myself with a thought like I expressed today upon my mind. I cannot rid myself of that thought until I have written it down. I can't work on my websites, check emails or do anything else until I have written it down. It creates for me a moment of relaxation and thanksgiving for what I have been given.

ps I am enjoying your youtube site. I found the gloves chapter to be very interesting.

Thanks for the encouragement. I have been away for a week so I haven't read again but will start tomorrow.

Hi Jerry
I’m with you on this.
I practice what is often called ‘mindfullness’ for about 20 mins early most mornings.
I’m not sure if it’s quite the same thing and mindfullness as a word is a bit of a misnomer. It’s about focusing and experiencing all the senses in the moment (seeing, hearing, feeling) and practising noticing and turning off any subconscious reactions as they arise (quietening the mind). It’s a way of developing awareness of all that is happening externally in the moment while avoiding any interpretation. It’s ‘mind emptiness’ really. :-).

You described perfectly what happens to me each morning. The main difference is that I am not actively trying for this. It is happening without any conscious input from me. It is very awe-inspiring to me to be selected for this type of input.
Jerry

Hi Jerry
In reality they are the same thing. Your practice seems to be a natural talent!
:-)
Richard

Beautifully written, I could hear the sounds and imagine I was there too. Thank you for sharing, Jerry.
Blessings

You are most welcome. I am now having these morning thoughts as I awaken each morning. It is almost like a compulsion to get it written. I have not been able to do any work on my websites until I have written whatever the morning wake up thought was. Thank you for reading.
Jerry

Beautiful Jerry many thanks!

This has become a daily routine. I have these thoughts in my mind until I share them. I can not get any work done until then. I am glad you enjoyed it.
Jerry

Wow, that nice one again, Jerry!
Thanks for sharing this.

Joyce

I was unable to see to write yesterday. My whisper was not complete in my mind until this morning. I am glad that you enjoyed it.
Jerry

Yes, it's nice, Jerry!

Please take care of yourself too.

We are the same; my eyes already operated and have their own lenses for both eyes. Sometimes I become a blur if tired.

So, take care of yourself too.
Best wishes,
Joyce
