Over 4 days ago, I tried to transfer my domain from GoDaddy to WA. I went to GoDaddy and put in the transfer DNS names, etc. I am still receiving the following errors here at

Are you transferring your domain name registration or do you want to have your site hosted at Wealthy Affiliate? Or both?

Here's what happened. I went to GoDaddy and purchased the domain. Then realized I could've just bought it through here so anyway, I was trying to transfer the domain here (because that's what I thought I had to do) so that I could build my site through here following the lessons. I then had to pay an additional yearly hosting fee which was actually double than what I paid just a few minutes prior when buying through GoDaddy but thought that's what I had to do. In the end, I believe I've paid way more than I should have between here and GoDaddy and can't get access to build my site. All I want to do is follow the instructions here building my site and moving through the course. I hope this is coming across clearly :-) So however I'm supposed to do that, that's my goal. Thank you Marion for speaking with me on this :-)

I'm pretty sure you can't transfer the registration of a domain name for 60 days after you purchase it. You can change the DNS to Wealthy Affiliate immediately. Once the DNS points to WA you can start building your website.

GoDaddy may be cheaper than WA for the first year but the renewal price is higher for subsequent years. WA prices are locked in and WA includes privacy which GoDaddy charges extra for.

I'm gradually changing the registration of all my domains over to WA as they get close to renewal.

Ok thank you for that information. I did go to GoDaddy and have the DNS point to WA over 4 days ago and I'm still stuck that's why I'm not sure what happened or what I need to do. The attached photos from my initial question are what I am still seeing as of this morning after making the DNS point here like I said over 4 days ago. So I'm not sure what to do now?

It sounds like then that I overpaid. I hope between GoDaddy and here, I will at least own that domain for a few years.

You can find out where your name servers (DNS) are pointed at https://whois.icann.org/en

When your name servers are pointed to WA then you can build your website here https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/build and start adding posts and pages.

Thank you. I just checked and it says they are pointed here but I'm getting the error messages that I posted in photos above.

That's the problem that I have been facing for several days :-)

Have you put in a support ticket? I'm thinking the problem may be because you've tried to change registrars too soon after purchasing the domain name.

Oh thank you. No, I didn't. I've just been speaking to Kyle about it. I didn't know putting a ticket in is an option. Thanks for your help. I'm going to look into doing that now.

:-)

In the meantime, while you're waiting for all that to get sorted, you can use a SiteRubix subdomain to build out your website and then transfer it to your real domain later.

Oh, I can? Ok. I'm thinking it can't be that hard to do but just in case, I'm guessing there are probably instructions here within WA for how to do that? You have been amazingly helpful Marion. I truly appreciate your patience & time with this "newbie" :-)

Yeah, there's a "Move" button in SiteRubix to transfer all the content on your subdomain to your real website.

Ok, got it. Also, it appears I'm all set. I just received a response from the help desk and the problem has been corrected. One last question if I may, I was looking through the "themes" for my site and they all indicate "blog" I thought we could build a blog or a website or both? Are there different themes that are for websites?

A blog is part of a website, it's the collection of your posts. Posts and pages make up most of your website. There are thousands of themes, this will help you choose one to start with

I just transferred my domain here and am trying to set up my website and I keep getting an error message saying "hosting not enabled" Can someone please point me in the right

Did you figure it out?? I'm running into the same problem.

My apologies. I'm a little confused on this :-)

asoloparent.com - It shows that it is here at least that's how I am seeing it on SiteRubix.

What is your domain? Do know that it can take up to 5 days to transfer a domain over before it shows up on our end as transferred.

You can track your transfer progress here:
