Utilizing The Power Of Google

Aloha Guys!

Two days ago I used the GSC to update my sitemap and to index my new post. Google was cooperative so far. However, it indexed my post as not mobile devices friendly! Why?

Two errors:

First one: clickable elements too close - this was familiar to me ;-) Ok.
The font size is too small to read. What???? My fonts are too small???

I went back to my posts to checked it and yes, the text was written in the same way I have layouted each post before, the same font, the same font size.

What's wrong??

"Google steps on my back! Google has too much power!" I was upset, especially because it was late, I did a good job and it was time to shut the office door and have a nice supper.

Of course, I couldn't leave the unfinished work.

I took a deep breath, cooled down and changed the layout of my fonts. Hmm, that looked pretty nice to me, and I decided to change the fonts for all my posts and pages ;-)

It is quite a bit of work but I like to invest it. Not for Google. I will do it for my visitors and for myself.

I know Google since they started. To the begining, it was an awesome search engine, friendly and fast. Over the years Google gained a lot of power! Way too much in my opinion. Google sets standards for all publishing, doesn't matter what. This is positive as long Google doesn't misuse it.

So, I will grow my website with Google, and utilize what Google asks me to do until I have found a way to promote my websites where I don't have to rely on Google.
I envision me already saying Google: "Google, now you can kiss my g..s". ;-)

What about you? Did you make such an experience? Font size too small?

Sending Love and Light to all of you!
Aloha, Jenna

Good afternoon Jenna,

Cannot say anything sensible about your issue. At the moment we are busy redoing all the pictures, around 1000, to see if speed will get better for mobile. A mammoth job, so between still producing my 2 posts a week and this speed issue my head cannot hold more.

Wishing you all the best.

Higs from the south, Taetske

Wow, Taetske!
I'm exchanging all images I included from Yahoo ...
But they are not so many ...

Don't forget to take care of yourself!!!!

Many higs from Hawaii!
Aloha, Jenna

I just installed the plugin "Lazy Load" which Jenna suggested in her training and what a change in Speed Load.

For PC all in the green and in the high 80s mostly 90s.
For the Mobile lots in the yellow now high 70s, some in the 80s, only 3 article still show red in the 50s and I need to find out what the reason for that might be.

Lots of Higs
Sylvia

Good evening Sylvia,

Thank you for letting me know. I will look into it tomorrow.

Higs from the south, Taetske

Yuuhuuu! Sounds good, very happy about, Sylvia!!!
Aloha, Jenna

Good afternoon Sylvia,

I could cry my eyes out of pure frustration but Lazy Load was not a success. I have mixed plugins, I have deactivated and then activated them, I can tell you, it was a mess.
Now I stop and will think about more pleasant things.

Greetings from the sunny south, Taetske

I'm so sorry to hear, Taetske!!!!!!!!1111

Did you try different plugins?
The only idea I have how I could help is to set Reiki for you and your websites and see what happens.

I work with Reiki on the way I work, on my goals and my website.
It works really beautiful!
I couldn't write much during the detox but I accomplished a lot on my website.
You can even read my posts in Dutch and Spanish!

Take a break and let me know what you think.
Sending many higs from Hawaii!
Aloha, Jenna

Good Morning Jenna,

Yes, I tried different plugins, took 1 away, test, took 2 away, test, took 3 away, test, put some back, etc. I have now gone back to WP Touch which makes it good for mobiles.
At the way it is going, I might take you up on your offer, sweet of you. Hope to get to read your post, I have not forgotten.
I know the languages are nice but I really cannot put more plugins.

Higs back from the south, Taetske

Yes, dear! Let me know.
You did a great job, and I'm thinking at this moment, all you could do.
I was at that point too, recently where one bug came after another and I was tired and also tired dealing with those bugs.
Andre (apache1) addressed it a few times that I should work with Reiki on my website/business.
So I decided to purify my inner, to take easy and leave the problems to Reiki. I decided that from now on it is easy for me and everything goes better and better and ... better.

Still practicing not to jump into not working things and fight them down - instead to know that the solution will come.

Interesting thing: The translate button decreased a few points of speed on mobiles but after I installed it my speed for desktop went up!
On my longer posts, I have a terrible high number of ads, sometimes 7 or 8!! It could be also the reason why some posts are slower.
But I really don't worry about it anymore.

I'm in the process of improving my images. I use free images mostly private ones with authors permission to use from freeimages.com and erase all images I implemented in SiteContent. Not sure about it but suspect that they cause problems too.

Sending much Love and Light!

Good Morning Jenna,

Is that the same company as the one I used? if yes be very careful. I now only use Pixabay and never had a problem.

Higs from the south, Taetske

Thank you for the hint, dear friend!
Just bookmarked Pixabay.

Aloha, Jenna

I didn't have this kind of problem.
But yes we have to work on our website
to give the best to our visitors.

cheers!
Ingrid

Yes, Ingrid! Absolutely. Right now I'm exchanging all uncertain images I include with Yahoo free images ...

Cheers!
Aloha, Jenna

Hi Jenna, I haven't had that issue but I do agree with you, Google and some others I can name, has too much power. But we are the ones who give it to them in the first place.

Yes, Russel! We really do.
Time to find some alternative ways! :-)

Aloha, Jenna

Actually, I think the font size of our posts are too small, so I enlarge all of mine from an 11 to a 14...much easier to read.

:-)) Smiling cause I'm doing it too, Fran. I changed the general size of the font size in the paragraph with CSS code - Marion's 1 minute-training. AWESOME. All done in a second. Really.

Sending Aloha!
Jenna

I have not had that problem yet Jenna, but wouldn't be surprised if it pops up later. Your right on target in that we have to do what we have to do for those who visit our sites.
Of course there is Bing and Yahoo who can also drive visits but other than the big 3 the only other option is to use social media to drive business to our sites.
Perhaps you could set up a mailing list as well that you could use to increase site traffic. Just thinking.
In the back of my head I am always hoping someone will come along and knock google off their throne to get them to act right. Ha Ha.
Thanks for sharing
Ray

Yes, it is true, Ray. We need to look for alternative ways!!

I have a subscribe button for my posts. I want also to install a newsletter with a mailing list. Thank you for your advice!

Thank you for your support!
Aloha, Jenna

Hi, Jenna I do get the same messages from Google regarding Mobile issues font to small clickable image too close etc.

I do the same as always, or before. Font size is OK the space is OK, what else can I do. I even messaged Site Support with a screenshot to explain the issue and the only response I got was that it is a theme issue and I should contact the theme developer.

I found this not very helpful and really fumed for a while. I can't change my theme every time something isn't working right, and who says it is really the theme?

Well, I won't go any further just saying I understand what you saying about Google too powerful too big and I agree with you on that.

Big Higs
Sylvia

It probably is the theme though and there is nothing site support can do about that as the choice of themes is yours.
I would suggest you try Generate Press and add the Elementor plug-in. All free and give you incredible flexibility.
There is a learning curve with Elementor but it is well worth the trouble.

Thank you for the tip, appreciated.
I will check it out.

Sylvia

You're welcome

You don't need to change a theme. You grab Marion's 1-minute-training and enlarge your fonts with the CSS. I changed some blog posts using heading 4, but this takes sooo long. To implement a CSS code takes a sec.
Enjoy!
Talk soon!

Namaste Sylvia
Higs and aloha!
Jenna

Thanks, Jenna I will check it out.
His, Sylvia
