I got my first sale....but I am not getting many clicks on my website!

Well I got my first sale-very happy about that! However, I don't feel that I am getting very many clicks on my WA website-any suggestions would be gladly appreciated. I think I may have gotten way ahead of myself by hiring a couple of "website promoters"...that I know nothing about and it seems it might have affected me. I thought that was the way to go since I really don't know much about driving traffic to my website. Again-any help will be happily accepted!! Thanks!!

Congrats on your on your first sale. However be careful of fly-by-night website promoters that alone can cause a big dent on your rankings. Rather post a question in the community prior to pay for any IM service. There's a lot of folks who are knowledgeable here at WA.

Well done the start of many, just keep on doing the things we have been taught on WA and I am sure you will continue to build it up.. have a good weekend

Congratulations my friend and it shows you are doing some research, continue to do your research and wish you good success.

Thanks for the advice Jim. I really can't say that I would even know how they went about supposedly "promoting" my website so I will say that is very good advice and I should stick to what I am learning on here and do it myself. I was just bummed to see that I was only getting a few clicks a day! I am most likely getting ahead of myself and need to just go over more lessons, and go back over the ones I didn't really grasp! Thanks again!

Hey Jennifer,

No problem. Most people find that when they revisit the training or finish it out, things really start to sink in and they take the necessary steps to get their websites set up in such a way as to increase traffic, which in turn leads to sales. I would definitely continue on with the training and do each of the tasks as they come up. This will help you out tremendously.

But in the meantime, don't be afraid to give us a shout out if you need help or are feeling discouraged.

Best Regards,
Jim

Hey Jennifer,

Great job on your first sale. It's usually that which gives people the reinforcement they need to keep on going with this.

As for lack of traffic, you joined at the end of March so I am going to assume that is when you created your website and started implementing the techniques from the training. That's only a little over one month. While people can increase their traffic in that amount of time, it typically takes longer than that and even then, that's with a commitment to consistent and continuous generation of quality content.

I am not sure that you really need to hire website promoters unless they can really prove that the return on investment is awesome. Here are some items to consider with respect to this:

First, have you tested to see that the sale was attributable to their efforts?

Second, is what you made on the sale greater than what you spent for them to do their work?

Third, will you be able to see some economies of scale with their work or will you have to continually shell out bucks in order to get a sale?

Fourth, are you sure they are using ethical marketing practices? If not, they can get you banned by Google or even in some cases, in trouble with the law.

You really have to be careful with these types of services. Besides, these services are really unnecessary if you follow methods shown in the training. They are meant to increase your traffic organically and in ways that will keep you in the good graces of your readers and Google.

Best Regards,
Jim

I agree here, it can have negative effects if you receive traffic in strange ways. Its best to stick to the practices outlined here and by other members. Google webmasters on you-tube can explain that traffic in the wrong way will hurt your rankings, never pay for traffic they will catch it eventually. Same goes for backlinks.

No, to a group that said they could submit it to 5000 backlink sites, 66 search engines, and so on. I just paid one fee but I have seen no results. I actually used two other groups that promised the same but....I don't even know what backlink sites are.

Hey Jennifer,
I read this after I posted my initial response. Those types of services are useless these days. Backlinks used to make a difference but today they are much less relevant. And Google has been continually cracking down on these backlink sites, also known as link farms. My advise to run, do not walk away from these schemes/scams.

Best Regards,
Jim

Nice one!... by hiring promoters did you mean that you paid per click?

Happy for you for your first sale

Thanks Nicole! :)

Congratulations on your first sale! How exciting!! I'm sorry I don't have any good advice to offer since, I'm super new at this. I just wanted to give you kudos! :)
