I seem to be having trouble with editing the home page to my website. The Home page was not in the menu layout and I type in the URL and titled it Home and clicked add but it j

Maybe I'm totally missing what you are saying, but when you create the custom link, paste in the URL of your website. In the field that says "Link Text" enter your menu name. I called mine "Blog". Maybe "Home" would be better. Then click "add to menu". Drag it where you want it.

Ah, I reread what you wrote.
My "Blog" Menu that links to my home page is a peer of my About Me and my Contact Page. My privacy page is at the bottom, it doesn't need to be prominent. Some of my other menus have submenus. Like I have a Travel menu, and then sub-items for posts under there.

I guess what I am saying is maybe you are over thinking it? How does it look if you save it?

Smh nope am not over thinking it.
It looks like this.............

About me | Privacy policy

Home page disappeared after I proceeded with the next step and added the top navigation menu update

And you want the menu to be Home | About me | Privacy policy?
It's important to click the blue "Save Menu" button. I would go back and do the custom menu again for "Home", drag it to the right place, and then immediately click "Save Menu".

If not, take a break and come back to it. I often find that a good night's sleep solves the problem I had struggled with for hours the night before.

Good luck!

Oh boy, well yeah I took a break. Sleep sounds even nicer.
Will see what I come up with Tomorrow.
Thanks all.

When you try it again tomorrow, rather than type in the URL for your site, maybe copy and paste it instead. It's easy to mistype. I just reread what you wrote, and the spinning grey ball might indicate it didn't like your typed in URL.

Anyway, good night and I hope this works for you.

In the site manager, did you go to Appearances< menus

Yes, I did but the default set out was not there in the layout so I add to add the privacy policy and about me page manually. Now am stuck cause I can't add the home page above them.

With my theme, I had to add the Home button myself also. Usually you go to custom links, type in the URL in the first line and then HOME in the second line, go to ADD and it should come up in the menu listing on the right. To save everything you have to click update.

I did all of that and I just see the grey ball spinning and I'm there waiting and waiting and it's not saying anything until the page becomes unresponsive.

Sounds like there is something wrong with the website/or the particular theme. Maybe you should just wait and try it again the next day.
