Unfocused - I seem to have lost my focus!
This is so unlike me. I am usually right in the mix and working hard to achieve my marketing goals. But, today, I am unfocused and cannot concentrate on anything.
I know the reason and at the moment it seems unsolvable!
Directing a play for our local community theatre and I have been unable to cast one of the roles. The crazy thing is that it is usually the men we have trouble with. It is always hard to find enough men who want to act.
This time, though, I need a young woman, aged between 20 and 30 to play the daughter of the family in "A Nice Family Christmas".
Living in Florida as I do, I'm sure you can appreciate that the average age of our actors, both male and female is about 55. I've so far contacted the local colleges and high schools, other local community theatres, all to no avail.
It has totally consumed my consciousness, so that I cannot think about what I should be doing for my online business. I have several keywords I want to write blog posts about, but cannot even get started.
We begin rehearsals this evening - which is always difficult when you are short one actor. But I'll keep looking and hopefully find someone suitable within the next 24 to 48 hours,
Once I have this problem solved - I'm sure I will once again find my focus and start cranking out blog posts.
I know you can't really help me with this, but I needed to have a rant anyway!

Don't worry, when you do come back you will be totally focused and things will flow. I hope you find that extra person.
The best thing is to do what you have done and get it out of your system, one way or another. Now when you go back you will be refreshed.

I think I'm going to need more than one day to get this sorted. I've managed to replace the Mom character, but still not the daughter. I might have to do some rewriting!
You know yourself best, take as much time as you need. Come back when you are ready. In the meantime, jot down ideas to keep the creative thoughts flowing.
Perhaps start a website aimed at getting men who want to act to come forward?

Everything will be sorted out.
Take a break; a deep breath, relax.
Maybe a walk around nature, feel the fresh air outside.
Then return to your activities, maybe then you can think of people to take up the roles.
