It seems that every day we have people joining and beginning their affiliate marketing journey here at Wealthy Affiliate. So, here are a few tips to help you plan your way forward.

Step 1: Develop the Right Mindset.

What is meant by the right mindset? Is there a wrong and a right mindset?

Well the generally accepted theory is that there are two types of mindset - Fixed and Growth.

So, a Fixed Mindset is one where you believe all you have achieved to the present time is all that you will ever achieve in your lifetime.

A Growth Mindset is where you believe that you can achieve absolutely anything that you attempt. Your belief in your own capabilities is paramount. You believe you can succeed.

Step 2: Choose Your Niche.

You will hear much in the Wealthy Affiliate training about choosing your niche. It is so important that you choose something in which you are really interested.

Once you have chosen your niche, you will need to write a huge amount of content (blog posts) about the subject. This is why it is important to select a hobby or passion of yours so that you can become an authority.

The most popular categories for niches online include Fitness & Weight-Loss, Health, Dating & Relationships, Pets, Self-Help/Personal Growth, and the list goes on. So, there is a lot of scope for choosing a niche.

Step 3: Build Your Website.

Even if you've only just arrived at the Wealthy Affiliate platform, you will soon know how simple it is to build your website.

Once you have your niche and a domain name, you can choose a Theme and click a button and your website will be constructed in a matter of seconds. (The Theme is the template for how your website will look to the general public).

Your website can be built on either the Wealthy Affiliate siterubix.com sub-domain (which is free) or on your own domain (if you have one) - the choice is yours.

Step 4: Create Great Content.

Now is the time to get your creative juices flowing. You must start to build out your website by writing heaps of great posts.

Your posts should be conversational and full of good information. Your goal is to help your website visitors (potential customers) solve their problems and issues.

You need to become an authority on your chosen subject niche,with the intention that people will want to visit you so that you can help them solve their problem or achieve their goals.

Step 5: Monetization - Joining Affiliate Programs.

There is no point in having great content if you don't know how to monetize it. You will need to find Affiliate Programs or Networks that align with your niche.

Amazon is one of the largest and most famous Affiliate Programs. But be warned, the commission rates are quite low and there are strict requirements for maintaining your affiliate status.

It is preferable to find companies within your niche that have active Affiliate Programs or join an Affiliate Network, such as ShareASale, CJ.com, Clickbank, etc.

With a Network, there will be a range of companies and products that you can promote. This may be a more efficient way of monetizing your website.
